VentureCraft new DDC/DAC Go-DAP DD Socket 1 product - Page 32

Fianlly figured out the darn problem, they seem to not to let 24/48 signal go to the DAC. What is strange is that when I play it on the ipod it would play and if I than connect the dd socket 1 to the ipod while it is playing it does not have that problem.

Silly question time. The lighted flick switch (off/iCharge/on) is usually red. Now it's green and I notice the battery level charge is low (not lit when battery button is depressed). Is this normal?

To be perfectly honest, I don't know. I can't seem to find the meanings of the switch lights anywhere. I have looked all over the place and cannot find a manual with a definition of the switch lights. I would love to know too!

The manual for the limited edition version on their website is quite detailed but indeed it is silent on the switch light's colors.

Yeah. I keep looking at the limited edition manual hoping that I missed that information somewhere, but alas...

Red is normal and Green is bass mode, and that's standard for VC and V-MODA.  Just hold the battery/mode button on the side for 2 sec until the toggle blinks, then toggle between iAMP and iAMP + Charge mode to switch between the two bass mode.

Err, the DD is a DAC-only. That feature you're referring to is for the DAC Amos (Go-Dap 4, X, TT, typhoon, Verza, vamp).

I was about to thank DrSheep when you replied. Here's the funny bit. I can change the color as he describes so is it or is it not a bass switch?

Doh! DAC Amos :-P....I mean DAC Amp. Guess who I've been talking to too much this past weekend ;-).

Anyway, I did think of what Dr. Sheep talked about before but AFAIK, that is with the DAC/Amps such as the Go-DAP X, Go-DAP 4.0, Verza, Vamp, etc.

My DD doesn't do that (I tried before posting). Is yours the black DD (12V limited edition) or the blue DD (9V standard?). Mine's the black DD 12V LE..

Mine is the basic blue one

It's not intuitive whether one releases the battery level button whilst moving the switch from on to iCharge. Sometimes it's a solid color (red or green) and sometimes it's a flashing red or yellow green. All very confusing. And in doing all this I noticed that the charging sign came on in my iPod even though the DD switch is at the ON position and not the iCharge position. I got it back to a non-charging status by switching off the unit entirely.

I'll ask VC tomorrow why the blue DD has the ability to switch colors like their DAC/Amp series. Right now I can't see how it'll be used as a Bass Boost in the pre-amp stage.

You hold the button for about 2 sec until the toggle starts to blink then release to switch mode with the toggle, then hit the battery button once to set the blinking toggle to solid to set the mode.

Dr.Sheep, any idea what it does though for the DD (whilst I'm waiting for a response from VC)??

On the Go-DAP 4.0 & X I know it's for their ASR function (& Bass Boost on Vamp & Verza). But what about the DD 9V? Kind of weird the DD 12V doesn't have it.

The only thing I can think of is that it's a remnant of the Go-DAP X that wasn't removed (I kinda think of the DD as a Go-DAP X without a full amp - although that's probably an oversimplification).
