Very nice! I'm hoping (for my sake) that the SQ difference isn't huge. If it is, I might have to look into the 12V version.

Awaiting impressions! popcorn.gif

Here are some initial impression.

After listen with 12V version all day, I can clearly say some improvement from the 9V model. The sound got cleaner. You got a little more details all over the frequency range compare to 9V. I notice some improvement on the low frequency. Bass is become a little bit tighter.

That is good news as I can always send my to get upgraded to 12V. Have you opened yours? Is the battery considerably larger than the 9V edition? Because I know for the steal cap edition they need a new case however for the 12 V the older case should be large enough for just a battery mod, right?

Yes, I opened it and swap the opamp to MUSES02. I think you can't send it back to upgrade. They use new PCB (black this time not green) and all new capacity/resistor. Battery is a little larger but should be able to fit in the old version.

I'd like to give one of these a try. Can anyone recommend a reliable retailer who can sell and ship a Socket 1 to Canada?

Normally I'd suggest going to the English page of http://www.go-dap.com but for some reason I can't seem to access it right now. They ship overseas.

Mt, the new battery is a 3200mAh, correct? You're saying this will fit into the blue Socket 1 DD??

Yes, it's 3200 mAh.

Actually, the thickness of new battery is pretty much the same as the old one. It's a bit wider and much longer. I'm able to use limited edition back plate on 9V version.

Here is the whole rig. ^^

For those of you that have swapped out the opamps using the OPA627, which OPA627 did you use? I am on Digikey and see at least 4 different types (with the longer pins). Which of these work (best) with the DD?

I found these on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Burr-Brown-OPA627BP-Dual-Adapter/dp/B00B07M7B2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1366603870&sr=8-5&keywords=opa627

I would have no need for the PCB adapter, but would these opamps work and if so are they good, being Burr Brown and all?

Also, what is good site to pick up a pair of the MUSES01?

I would recommend contacting venturecraft directly and ask them this question. You never know they might be able to sell you those opamp at a good price.

I really like this m2m cable. Since this one is right angle, It's better than my previous ALO SXC. For the sound, It give a warmer sound than what I get from alo.

They said that this cable is directional too.

I -think- the chaps who make that m2m for the VentureCraft promo are these ppl: http://hakuhatuken-audio.seesaa.net/. The reason why I think it's them is VentureCraft gave me their homepage :-P.

They exhibit in Fujiya events & sadly although I've walked by their exhibit on numerous occasions I never once stopped by to try or to talk to them. That will change in the next Fujiya event next month.
