Very nice amp for mid-fiers to entry high-fiers.
The sound quality and specs are very good for the price. Works very well with Jazz and Classical music in particular (not that rock and...
My pair was a supposed demo model from one of Hifiman's retailers. They came in mint condition, which is lucky for me. I'm not using a balanced cable yet, but I already feel it's a good upgrade...
The JVC HA M750's were my first "real" pair of headphones. Previously, I had just used iPod headphones and cheap 10 dollar headphones from my local grocery store. As such, I was very impressed by...

Dammit guys. All this praying for <$1K... I waltzed in here, fingers crossed, looking for something <$350.
-sigh-
Perhaps they'll come up with TH300 or something that I CAN afford.
I think even $1k is unlikely, guessing something like $1300.
Someone in the TH-900 thread mentioned $1200 based on what their local retailer told them. That would put the TH-600 in direct competition with the Denon AH-D7100, which would be interesting.
I just talked to a Mr Yushido Nagasaki who gave me the inside scoop. They're going to special price one unit only at the introductory price of 19.95 USD. How do you get this crazy one time deal? Remember the part in the last Mad Max movie when people started chanting "two men enter one man leaves"
"Costs $1400, but the sound loses the unique electrostatic-like sound from the TH900s, which makes it lose all the value and makes me completely not want it anymore"
The TH900 doesn't sound like any electrostat that I've heard - it's more visceral. I was under the impression that Fostex hadn't settled on the sound of the TH600 yet.
If its 1200 bucks, thats way more then I would want to pay. There are other headphones in that range I would rather have.... unless these sound amazing. ^_~ subbed
