My current best is the V Moda M100. I chose the TH600's based on my music taste (posted in another thread) and the recommendation as well as many reviews. Kind of buying blindly here but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Should be here at the start of next week.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but the magni + modi is prob. going to be a bit on the bright side for the th-600. If I were on a budget I'd go with the odac (rca ver.) and meier corda rock with a quail 14 awg power cable and some ela rca ic's. Just my 2 cents.

+1 I'd go for something a little more warmer sounding or with smoother treble

Thanks,

Have you ordered the magni modi yet Danni, even though these two above are advocating otherwise I'd recommend not breaking the bank yet until you see if you enjoy the amp and dac first.

I'm going to send you a link via pm for something you should read imo.

Thought I'd post a few random albums/artists I've been listening to and loving on these headphones. Posted them in another thread but its more about how amazing they are on the TH600 :) They are making me seek out and explore lots of new stuff (and high quality FLACs and such more), and often genres I didn't use to as much.. vocals sound amazing too. I've never enjoyed music so much and have been even occasionally just sitting and listening with my eyes closed a bit - something I should do more often methinks.

Atoms For Peace - Amok (Thom Yorke + electronica, nuff said - check out the recent music video...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWrUEsVrdSU)

Yeasayer

Arctic Monkeys - AM

Memotone (William Yates)

Hiatus Kaiyote (awesome soul/funk band, they're on the GTA5 soundtrack)

Mala

Chillstep like Phaeleh, Synthetic Epiphany

Trentemoller's new album 'Lost'

Leatherette (Ninja Tune label same as Four Tet, full of gems)

Emika (as above)

Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus etc

If you're into experimental electronica (IDM, Glitch etc) I highly recommend checking out Enig'matik Records. Based here in Australia

Not many reviews for Rudistor amps in general, which saddens me greatly :-(

Always been curious about Rudistor units. One of the local stores has a vary handsome black RP-8 for sale, but that's about all I've seen locally.

I know that Mark Lawton (the famous Denon D2000/5000/7000 modder) speaks highly of the NX models. I've seen pictures of the RPX-38 DualMono and think it's one of the most beautiful solid state amps out there. Wish I could try one with my TH-900.

Just ordered these! Again I can't wait to get them, I just got the HE-500 and WA6-SE in house, everything will be complete with these! :)

DemonFox convinced me I guess, damn that guy! :P

A local store just launched a limited time promotion for the TH-600. SGD999 for 1! (Which is USD800 for 1). NEW! I am really tempted, extremely tempted. But as of now, I am quite satisfied with my Shure SE846 and I haven't even gotten sick or the upgratitis yet. But on the other hand, I feel it's wasted to let such a good offer just past like that. Because in order to get them, I would have to let my 846 go... I am in a really bad dilemma. Help guys :(

Oh you've got it bad buddy. Plus what's wrong with having a top tier over the ear pair that can be ran off of pretty much anything? If you are going to go with a full size can might as well make it one of the best at a reduced price. Win Win

Thanks,

Well don't make it sound like I pushed you lol. You didn't exactly put up much of a fight now did you!! The TH-600 and HE-500 alone are great choice but you went and set the whole thing off by getting the WA6-SE!! You'll be very happy for some time good sir.

And yes... You're welcome

Thanks,

Hi All,

I was wondering how do the Th-600s respond to smartphone outputs and also headphone outputs on AVRs, specifically the Denon Receivers.

Cheers,
Mitchell

Mitchell,

The Jaben offers is really good. I ordered the TH600 from Price of Japan coz previously Jaben were selling them for more than S$1.6k.

At S$999, with local warranty to hoot, it's a jolly good offer mate.

Bare in mind that the TH600 is using 6.5mm plug and the cable is 3m, so you'll need a 6.5 to 3.5 adaptor and coil the cable really small if you want to use it with your smartphone.

Anyway, I've tried plugging the TH600 to iP5 and Sansa Clip+. While they are very easy to drive, give them a good source of clean power and they will excel.

Not sure on the headphone out of AVR, as I'm using the TH600 with iFi iCAN, which is a budget amp with a small footprint.

With my current setup of MBP > AudioEngine D1 > iFi iCAN, the TH600 gives me more satisfaction than the Senn HD800.

I've a WA7 Fireflies on order, so hopefully it will even up the playing field between the 2 phones.

Whether the TH600 is worth selling the SE846, tough decision you have to make
