[AUS] Fostex HP-P1 iDevice DAC/AMP + Whiplash TWag v2 USB LOD Combo <<MAKE ME AN OFFER!>>
Will Ship To: Anywhere
The HP-P1 is in great cosmetic condition, there is a couple of tiny scratches on the front faceplate from errant insertion of the headphones. It has always had rubber feet, so no scuffs on the bottom. It has usually resided on my desk as a desktop unit.
Functionally it works great, it produces a clear improvement over the iPod DAC and Amp components. The articulation of the instruments is clearer and it is able to drive a variety of phones from sensitive Triple Fi's to more difficult to drive HD600's to a good volume.
However, as has been noted the HP-P1 has an abnormally large volume pot, and on this unit when the knob to the right aggressively can cause a sudden channel imbalance. This is not usually a problem 98% of the time (it doesn't occur all the time), and doesn't cause me any day to day issues as I don't tend to move it around a lot.
All the original packaging and accessories are included:
- Fostex HP-P1 iDevice DAC/Amp
- Fostex short iPod cable
- USB charging cable
- Carrying case (no one has ever used this as it is impossible to figure out)
- Instruction manual
If you need some elastic bands I might be able to spare some white ones. Ask me about it.
Whiplash TWag v2 LOD
Included in this sale is a Whiplash TWag v2 USB LOD. This retails for $140, and for me it provides an audible (if not very slight) improvement in the sound quality. But as audiophiles we want the best no?
This cable was unfortunately left in a front pocket of a bag once by me and has some scratches, doesn't affect the sound, but my bad!
Shipping + Payment
Shipping in Australia is preferable, but will ship overseas as necessary. Pick up (and trial if wanted) is available in Sydney.

Further Questions and Offers
Any questions please ask!
I will take offers, but nothing ridiculous please.
I'll be starting work next year and will be driving or cycling to work so no longer will have long transit times to listen, thus I'll let this be used by someone who will use it more frequently. Maybe I'll buy another one down the track, but who knows?
I used it as shown, with an iPod Classic 7th gen, banded to the unit with foam wedged between, to my favourite Hifiman RE262. Bliss! I'll be keeping the iPod, RE262 and black bands.
