FS: HeadRoom Desktop AMP/DAC (plus Astrodyne Power Supply)
Will Ship To: USA
-- SOLD --
Selling my HeadRoom Desktop AMP/DAC, which I'm no longer in need of. It's in absolute mint condition, and was purchased directly via HeadRoom at full retail ($849). There is still nearly a year left of warranty coverage, until September of next year. I'm also including the Astrodyne power supply, which originally cost me $99 and was also acquired directly through HeadRoom. In addition to the Astrodyne power supply, the buyer will also receive the original power supply, as well as all paperwork needed for warranty purposes. The specs of either unit can be found here:
Buyer is kindly requested to cover shipping & PayPal fees. Please note that I'm NOT willing to ship internationally.
On a side note, while I'm sure AMP 'X' or 'Y' is far better suited, the HeadRoom Desktop AMP/DAC drives even my HE-6 effortlessly. I was curious to know just how powerful this unit is, so I contacted HeadRoom, and received the following reply, and I quote:
My question: I was interested in pairing my HiFiMan HE-6 with the HeadRoom Desktop AMP/DAC. I'd like to know, what's the headphone amp output power for the Desktop AMP/DAC?
HeadRoom's answer: The Output maximum is 10Vrms. This will vary depending on the headphone, but I have found the Desktop amp to drive the HE6 quite well. High gain setting is definitely recommended.
I'm mentioning this only for full disclosure, and to reiterate the point that this AMP/DAC sounds great with every headphone I've ever owned, all the way up to my HE-6. Please DO NOT turn this into a discussion thread. As I've mentioned above, I'm sure there many other AMP's out there that are FAR better suited for the HE-6, but never once did the HeadRoom Desktop AMP/DAC leave me unsatisfied. With my HE-6, when in high gain, I've never pushed it past the 12 o'clock position on the volume knob, so there's plenty of residual volume.
PM me if interested. Thank you.
