The LCD 2s as far as I know should be fine as far as hiss is concerned. I've paired my CLAS off with the ALO MKII and the Leckerton UHA-6S MKII as well as the UHA-4 and they all sounded great on the CLAS. I personally feel having a separate DAC is a plus because it gives you options amp wise.

May i ask is anyone experiencing a poor shielding on your clas db newest batch? My unit is having a bad cellphone signal interference. When i put my cell phone (during on going calls or even only sms text coming through) near to it while the music is on..i can hear the signal noise through my headphone badly. I cross checked with number of people they do not experience this. So i wonder if i am alone or anybody else having the same. Thanks.

Very strange. I did try with my other rigs. Some of them also having same problem when i use a dac in the chain. For example i use HPP1 dac with my Apex Glacier also have this issue. With hpp1 and national amp i don't have this problem. The noise is louder when i use my clas db. I don't have this problem with any of my amps if i use it only with my ipod (without a dac). I don't have any idea why. Is not really bothering me...but when i have a call coming in it does annoys me with that stupid noise. I live in two storey house on the 2nd floor. Is there any possibility under my circumtances that cause this signal noise issue? I am going to try later when i am on downstair and see how.

Not from the phone but when on the train and the train driver makes an annojncement, a slight interference occurs. I don't think its with the solo as i just use the a
amp and it still occurs.
