I agree. These are great for $35. I was prepared to write these things off if they were no good, but I am really enjoying them. Yes, depending on the song, the mids might be more slightly veiled at times. And maybe they arent technically perfect in areas. But even then, they still sound good. And more often than not, they sound great. I love the bass and the lush sound. I guess they would be considered "fun" sounding like my senn. px100ii's.

I normally use my senn px100ii at the gym because the bass deals with outside sound well - or so I thought! I can't use them now at the gym after using the r1's. The r1's isolate very well, and the lush sound and bass is perfect for the gym environment.

Anyway, I am enjoying them a lot. I can't wait to get my VERY expensive fxd70's ($60 lol) to see how they stack up.

How strong is the bass on the R1's? These are some really interesting IEMS

I'd say it's enough to be bass-head quantity.  It's quite strong bass (large body, strong texture and impact).

Thank you for the quick answer, I will probably order a pair of these this week! :D

I agree, the bass is quite good on these R1's

+1

Made my electro house sound awesome yesterday. Even better than the my Yamaha EPH-100s.

Even though it wasn't as tight and controlled as it is on my Yams.

they're great earphones otherwise, really good bass response, not at all muddy but infact well defined

What kind of problems are you having with them?
Spun out from my RenovateD and NCX'd HTC One X!

When i plug them in the headset symbol doesn't show up and music is played through the rear speaker, this is a random error and sometimes it works and then it just doesn't if i unplug it and put it back in. I've tried my R1s in an iphone and they work perfectly. I've tried the stock apple earphones with remote in my htc and they work fine. =/

EDIT: I've just done a test: even when the headset sign shows up the button doesn't work to pick up a call or anything.

Haha...come on now...apart from the fitting, R1 has nothing on TF10 (which is my favourite IEM of all time), but then again a TF10 = 5x R1

Sorry to disagree here, but IMHO, M4 has bigger impact than R1, and I don't think it's big enough for bass-head, I gave this to my basshead mate to try (the same guy who thinks that both MEE M6 and M9 are not bassy enough, and AtrioX is 'just borderline'), as soon as he put this on he was like "where the hell is the bass?" smily_headphones1.gif

Just received these today, the packaging is amazing for its price, the case especially is what I would expect from $100+ IEM, it comes with quite a lot of tips as well.

They do sound amazing for its price, just that the mids are slightly recessed and slightly too much mid bass for my taste

I agree that M4 has "better" bass - a dry, punchy and faster one, but not more (quantity).

Actually I have to reduce bass by EQ a little to avoid distortion on some electronic music.

Also R1 is significant less clear and crisp than M4, but overall they´re much more fun ;)

I would be extremely interested if someone can compare this against Fischer Tandem...anyone...please?

Hmm, i don't have these issues.

I always get the icon as soon as I plug them in.

Perhaps you could look at changing your ROM.
