Oh god, what have I done


I just placed an order on a pair of HD800s in blue and white from Colorware. I thought it was an amazing price since the painting is practically free. Recent HD800 price hikes (due to the release of th HD700s) have pushed up to $1500 and Colorware shipping cost me a whopping $26

I just realized that no matter how beautiful they look they can only stay at home... And I cannot justify using 1500 dollar headphones when I'm barely making ends meet for the past 3 months

What have I done...
I only fear for what's next to come and how much I will spend then

Sorry for your wallet. :(

 

Never come to Head-Fi again, and never browse any websites regarding headphones. Your urges will slowly die down if you're not constantly exposing yourself to the hype surrounding new and supposedly "better" products.

 

Blue and white HD800s do sound gorgeous though.

which other headphones do you own?

unless you already have flagship models (in which case it's hard to downgrade from there), buy a mid-fi headphone around the $300 mark. stay here in this price bracket, and just enjoy the cans for what they are. if you need a DAC/Amp, find a budget one for around $150. Unless you are an audiophile, there are some great sounding cans and gear for a few hundred dollars. Resist the urge to upgrade, or to consume more needless stuff in general.

 

If all the above advice fails..... sorry about your wallet.

It was ordered more than 24 hours ago.... I looked over my receipt and it said that there would be a 25% restocking fee

Buyer's remorse

 

WAIT: I'm going to actually call them about it later if I can

 

EDIT: No, I deserve this. I won't cancel it

 

EDIT2: No, I can't justify it!

 

EDIT3: It's a treat, I promise I won't buy any headphones for years!

Haha, sounds like you need some drugs. I think plenty of us have bought things we probably shouldn't have at the time. Life goes on, so enjoy the headphones.

You'll regret it until that shiny new package arrives at your doorstep. I did the same thing when I first joined this site. I could barely pay my bills and was living at home with my folks but yet I was hustling up 3, 4 and 5 hundred dollars to buy stuff lol. Ahh good times though. I still use all the stuff I bought just about every single day and I don't regret it one bit (now)
