Recommended open/close headphones for Vocal trance

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

I'm really big into trance/vocal trance/chill music and have been researching for the best headphones. People recommend Denons (D5) for Ultrasone (Pro 900) for EDM which is great, but which would be better for vocal trance or are there any other headphones that do a better job. I don't really have a budget but headphones like the HD800 and T1 are ridiculously high.

here are some links for the type I listen to.

Thank you for any help.

HD650 and never look back. Or if you want the 650 with more separation and bass HE-400.

Heya,

Suggestions:

Hifiman HE-400 (dark, fast, open)

Denon D2000 & D5000 (sub-bass is exquisite, sparkle, closed)

Beyer DT990 (bright, open, bassy)

Ultrasone HFI 2400 (open, bassy)

M-Audio Q40 (dark, closed, bassy)

AudioTechnica A900X (closed, bassy)

Very best,

I'll echo the Sennheiser 6xx sentiment, more so towards the 600 than the 650. While the 650 can dig deeper for more deep bass, the 600 isn't that bad down low and has more upper-mid bite than the relaxed 650, for vocal and synth presence without going overboard and being painfully bright, like say the Denons.

+1 for D2000
