SONY XB500 OR XB1000, which has more deeper bass and which shakes your head more?

Hello headfiers, i can't decide on which i should get, i am looking for deep lows and lots of vibration from the headphones that you can feel all over your head and wobble your eardrums when the bass hits. So for that, which is better for that deep bass and which headphone can you feel the bass more the XB500 OR XB1000?

Well, I have both xb500 and xb1000, if you want lots of vibration from the headphones that you can feel all over your head, then go for xb500, but u will need an amp and turn on the bass boost, I use e11, but I think for 500, you can get cheaper one like e3 e5.

I doubt there exists a headphone that gives more "feel the bass" than XB500. I had XB700 too which sounds like if the bass was deeper than XB500 but playing those same deep bass focused tracks on both the XB500 still provided me more "feel the ears-wobbling" kind of bass. XB500 outputs bass pressure like no other headphone, well HA-M5X and V-Moda Crossfade LPs are very similar but not necessarily better, the JVCs are cheaper but worse and the LPs are slightly expensier but not better (more veiled highs).

nother' member of both headphones reporting in :)

xb500 has the most quantity, the bass would probably slam listening to rachmaninoff, lol bass isnt accurate for sh*t, but ******* is it fun

xb1000 also has alot of bass but its geared more towards the lower frequencies, also unlike the xb500 which can make almost any song sound bass heavy, the xb1000 is tight accurate bass, if the song doesnt have any strong bass notes, its not going to register any strong bass notes, its that simple

to compare the 2, the xb500 is 2 15" juggernaut subwoofers rattling in your car and the xb1000's are a fine tuned night club, pick whichever one sounds like the one you'd be in to

aha, if just in terms of the vibration, I think the skullcrasher beats everything, since they are made for "feel the bass", but in terms of sound, a totally different story.

That's because they have built-in vibrators in the headphones that shake with bass. XB500 can nearly create similar effect by PURE BASSPRESSURE which Skullcrushers can only dream about based on this graph. :)

As seen the Skullcrushers lack the subbass to make this a possibility, what I can tell based on this graph though is that the Skullcrushers probably do have the most impactful, hard hitting bass but only on very selective tracks with the right bass frequencies. :P

yeah, I totally agreed, and nice graph btw. I do listen to xb500 with very heavy bass songs a lot, because i like the shaking, but Im kind of worry that if keeping it vibrating will damage it?

I very much doubt it, I kept using XB500 for about a year or so with a digiZoid ZO amp which greatly increases bass response. However if you'd listen at painfully loud volumes, possibly, I never listen at very loud volume, I always use a fixed volume setting at which I'm satisfied with the volume personally.

i have both... both shake the head tremendously when amped with a small thing like fiio e11 with bass boost....the xb500 bounce more on your head(simple because they are smaller and much lighter)... you will stop hearing the bass and rather feeling it with them... ear damaging... trust me... not a good idea... i felt pain in my left ear due to their heavy bass when i first got them... never used it to higher levels again... the xb1000 will exert more pressure on your eardrum though as they can move more air due to those gigantic drivers.... and they are a better headset overall too...

Hola!

I've owned the XB700 (currently own the XB1000) and a demoed the XB500's around the same time as the XB700's. If you want raw "shake" then go the 500 route. They're less refined and the bass becomes inflated on pretty much every song regardless of what bass characteristics it carries. The 500's = bass impact. The 1000's are a different beast. The 1000's need serious amplification to run correctly. The better the amp the better they'll sound. However the sound is very accurate in regards to the song as previously mentioned. They have bass impact only when the song actually has strong bass impact frequencies.
