Here, *****, *****, ***** , ***** ;).

The apathy is blinding.

It is exactly because of how everyone shrugs off anything serious on here, that this is occurring.

I don't enjoy starting issues as much as the next person. As you can see I avoid serious and dangerous topics with deprecating comments and jokes all the time. But rather than having this loom over the thread and eventually kill it off, why not be progressive about it? I only bring this up because I'm too indebted to this thread.

I realize that people stopped taking things on here seriously because it is the Internet. But I hold many of you in high regard on here, I respect you as people. So please, just this once, won't you take this seriously? This is the last I'll ask of you.

FTR, I was being serious, Warren wrangled everyone together and pushed the TMAC themes in specific directions and resolved issues.

I think 90s November is a good idea, and so was Naked November (though probably not naked people) think anything bare or without its usual coverings.

lol I'm not sure how far we could get with naked people for avatars. We'd have a flurry of bans for sure :P.

Sorry, I was a bit on edge.

This is definitely a democracy, and I'm just putting in my side of the coin. All I ask is that people take the time to get where I'm coming from.

Frankly, I'm not too confident on 90's November - it's a bit vague since there's so many ways we can go about this (which is great when we choose to be creative, but also has the potential to be very diffused and confusing). People seem to not enjoy staying with a template, so that just worsens the situation. It'd also be very hard to tell whether or not there's a theme at all due to this. I don't want to go ahead of myself though, perhaps someone will suggest a way to implement it very well, I'd be game for that.

Naked might work, just because it has many humorous elements to exploit. But it can be privy to the same follies outlined above. Great thing about it is that any implementation would be far more obvious due to shock value/obvious visual similarities. One thing could be to grab iconic headphone-wearing pictures and make the subjects naked in some fashion. It would just have to be done tastefully and abide by the TOS.

The PG-18 thing might be circumvented if we only find imagery naked from the backside, like the Nozomi picture for Jude during January. There are a lot of clever ways to go about it, which would satisfy plenty on here. Plus, the shock value bordering from it draws interest, makes things inciting for newcomers.

Some stuff that was relevant to a much earlier post (Click to show)

I think the reason I don't often venture outside this thread (and a few others) is that Head-Fi has kind of left me behind. I'm not in the market for new headphones and probably won't be for a very long time, so the speculation and appreciation threads are of no interest to me. Plus, they seem to always end up as train wrecks, anyway, which might be entertaining for a little while but eventually just becomes annoying. The headphones I have are all well hashed out models that offer little mystery. The good thing about that is that the DT880 appreciation thread is a pretty orderly, calm place. But there really isn't much of interest to say that hasn't already been said a thousand times before. Outside of that, the lounge has been dead for years now--it's usually just the same dozen or so threads churning up and down the first page.

I've tried going on post quests several times before, so that more people can see my avatar and the TMAC link in my signature. I lose heart halfway through because there's just so few places I can offer meaningful input, or else I just seldom find anything interesting to reply to.

I probably post between 10 and 15 times each day when the TMAC thread is active. When it isn't, I've gone several days at a stretch without posting once. I love this thread and everybody in it, but sometimes even through the warm and fuzzy feeling that happens when we're really on in here, I detect a cool, empty breeze from the rest of the site. Everybody's got a TMAC or a Diary or a block of impressions/speculation threads, but in between is empty space.

I know I should be doing more to promote TMAC, but given the above, it just never happens.

It's a shame this wasn't someplace like AudioKarma, where people often posted "nudies" of their gear. Seeing output caps the size of Coke cans creates a certain kind of arousal. But who wants to see the inside of a headphone amp or a headphone? Who would even associate that with a theme like Naked November? It might have been a clever implementation, but I can see right now it would fall down in execution.

I'm all for sticking to the "tradition" of highlighting a member myself. It keeps with the site ambiance I guess for lack of a better word, and sticks to headfioolery moreso. But if there's a better headfioolery type thing you decide on great..

 My vote goes to Nutman.

But I am new and only a superficial poster ( in these them purts anyhow ). Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

Nuisance November.

We troll at least 5 threads each day by posting inane comments.

Links have to be posted here to prove compliance.

Warren is the judge for each day's efforts, and awards points for the best/worst efforts of the day.

The TMACer with the highest monthly pointscore gets a new custom title of Warren's choosing.

TwinQy, your chance to got out of the cat's xxxxxx.!

^ to expand on this we could all use something most head-fiers would recognize as an avatar; ie a Trollface or Dennis the menace.

Or Dennis the... nuisance.

Wow, I've never seen the twinqy so serious

I still vote for 90s November, but I suppose this could be an option for November....

It would highlight a member, after all....lol
