Day 3 of Occult October is also a tribute to Eliphas Levi.

A former Roman Catholic seminarian, he decided that he liked women more than the priesthood (who wouldn't?) and devoted his life to studying ancient religions and is commonly referred to as "the father of the Western occultism". A true renaissance man, he challenged the teachings of the Catholic church regularly, which meant he was often running for his life, at one time there was a contract offering $250,000 in gold (in today's money) for him, dead or alive. He was almost captured in Istanbul, but the three men who were after him all died of heart attacks, on the same night, at the same time. Witnesses claim they heard panicked screaming during the night from the room they were all sharing... True? Who knows? But what is known is that soon after that, the "warrant" for Levi's capture was rescinded (presumably by the Vatican), with no comment regarding why. Hmm...

Jolly looking fella:

Ha! Ol' Eliphas was another Catholic school survivor - welcome brother! :p

I thought it was referencing Family Guy. Shows how up to speed on culture I am.

Also, I've joined the Occult. I figured necromancy would be a good place to start. I might change up as I explore more of the subject. Lots of fascinating stuff to learn.

I know. It's not like I have any choice in the matter, either. That would imply that humans could possibly have free will and the ability to exercise good judgment. Madness, those notions! Madness!

So you are.

Soon you can join us in our special forum. You won't believe what Jude and Currawong get up to in there. And if you thought TwinQY was wild in here, just wait until you see him in the Supremus Forum--absolutely nuts, that one (said with the utmost affection).
