You mean from a another multi-same day conference or from sitting in commute rush traffic?

From the conference! I was at OpenWorld in San Francisco with 50,000 of Larry Ellison's closest friends...

Sounds interesting...

Celebrating the CUP, no doubt! :D

Larry didn't even show-up at the conference for his keynote speech! He blew us off because the keynote was at the same time as the race that tied it 8-8.

Ah, priorities...:normal_smile :

Another of my personal favorites from the Hanna-Barbera Golden Years of the 1960s...

Touché Turtle originally aired starting in 1962, so even someone as old as I am really only saw him on reruns. Other than being a champion fencing turtle, Touché was really a swashbuckling "hero" rather than a "superhero". His sidekick, a sheepdog named "Dum-Dum" (can you imagine *that* getting approval today?) was voiced by Alan Reed, who also voiced Fred Flintstone.

Lessee... if I had a race, would I rather be there or standing in front of a multitude of IT people I didn't know, or care about, giving a speech that won't really say anything new and will only be criticized by the press anyway? Gee, that's a tough one! biggrin.gif

When I think of the America's Cup racers now, all that comes to mind is James May's ride in one of them.....

At the conference, I also reconfirmed that I don't like Maroon 5 - even when I am really close to the stage...

Adam Levine seems like a cool guy, but I can't say I'm into their music. Harder to Breathe isn't too bad, good driving song.

I guess we weren't screaming like his typical crowd - he kept begging for more noise and for us to sing along. I'm thinking no one told him that the crowd was full of 30-50 year old male IT geeks, not 17 year old girls.

They should have gotten Deep Purple and Golden Earring, they would have saved a ton of money. biggrin.gif
