Another of my personal favorites from the Hanna-Barbera Golden Years of the 1960s...
Touché Turtle originally aired starting in 1962, so even someone as old as I am really only saw him on reruns. Other than being a champion fencing turtle, Touché was really a swashbuckling "hero" rather than a "superhero". His sidekick, a sheepdog named "Dum-Dum" (can you imagine *that* getting approval today?) was voiced by Alan Reed, who also voiced Fred Flintstone.
Lessee... if I had a race, would I rather be there or standing in front of a multitude of IT people I didn't know, or care about, giving a speech that won't really say anything new and will only be criticized by the press anyway? Gee, that's a tough one!
I guess we weren't screaming like his typical crowd - he kept begging for more noise and for us to sing along. I'm thinking no one told him that the crowd was full of 30-50 year old male IT geeks, not 17 year old girls.
