Plus, as I've recently found out, Jude likes to take macro shots of our facial pores when we're not paying attention.  All in good fun of course, but I can see how that might put some people in paranoid meerkat mode from time to time.  biggrin.gif

Okay.... my final word on this month's avatar.... Loving some of the creative avatars.

However, as a person who came to this thread by asking myself "What's with all of the Star Trek avatars" for Obob Oct. I can say that having such differing images and avatars does detract from the impact. I personally would have never really made a connection had everyone not had such similar avatars in October to realize there was a theme.

I think among us we all understand them and they are great. But if we are interested in that same draw or attractiveness to expand the Tmac idea, the great variance in images is less likely to accomplish that.

I think the fact we didn't vote this month resulted in the varying creative ideas which is fine too but I preferred it the other way so just throwing it out there.

Just sit back, relax, and drink some early eggnog? We could take a break from voting on December I think. We'll vote again later. :-P

Early...Egg Nog...? In California, dairies start shipping it to stores weeks 3 & 4 of October. Well, even earlier if you like the cheap stuff. rolleyes.gif But, I always hold out for super premium. I use Halloween weekend as my kick-off! wink.gif

First I'd like to thank Silent One above for getting us off topic again. We were getting dangerously on topic, talking about voting and the December theme.

Next I'd like to express my joy at finally being done with the web design project that took a ridiculous amount of my time this past weekend and kept me from posting on Head-Fi as much as I usually do. I didn't even get to listen to my headphones I was so busy. Had to happen sometime in a pretty chill semester, especially since I knew about this project for weeks. But whatever, it's done, and now I'm making up for lost time listening to music.

Of course I still have to do tomorrow's homework, but I've been doing it the morning before all semester and have an A average everywhere, so that's no problem.

Like Silent One said, you make a good point. But you have to remember that even during Obob October, members still personalized their own avatars (actually Warren and others did most of the editing) and we're still doing the same for December as well. I'm fine with everyone having a unique Avatar, but it should be okay as long as everyone has the same concept down. It's kind of hard to miss the iconic bird in everyone's avatar, even if they are unique from one another.

October was just awesome as an onlooker knowing nothing about what was going on. The curiosity it drew was cool with people making comments about it in all these different threads..... Although altered all the images looked basically the same with a little personalization. But I am easy. Like I said I like the individual ideas.

Agreed the bird in every image will still get people to have that same curiosity. I don't really care either way. Just my opinion the other way is funnier.

Hey jgray91, when you come out of hibernation for January, can you actually put a poll on the front of the thread? That would be helpful for newbies like I was last month to decide what really was the theme as some people *cough Doc cough* had other avatars that kind of confused me, thanks!

After Currawong Christmas, I think we have no choice but to go for Jude January. duggehsmile.png

Hopefully he's as chill about it as Currawong was. Jude lives out my way. If I somehow manage to beat the 1 in 12,000,000 or so odds that I run into him I'll be sure to ask how he feels.

Just making sure you know I'm kidding and wasn't being rude. There was a bit of a running joke about staying off topic in this thread, and I was referencing that. I certainly wasn't being sarcastic or anything.

As far as learning to focus...you got me there. I'm often distracted by shiny objects lurking just out of sight.

Good to know, as I consider myself a guest here with suspect good behavior. ksc75smile.gif
