You sound like Solaris devotee from a way back. When the ISP I worked for back in the day, US Robotic Modem card racks, we had a wall of them that's how long ago it was.
Our main mail server A Sun box, I forget the specs but would be total junk today had a problem with mail. They had to get a Sun tech to come up and recompile mail to get it working in a certain way... $300 an hour plus expenses is what they paid for this dip schiit who spent the whole day there and still didn't fix the issue. But the slackware hemp fairies who ran our webserver managed to figure it out and before long it was doing what it should. I'll take the Jolt drinking, hemp smokin' geeks any day. "Here Chico let me get you a new ashtray, played any good D&D campains recently?"

I was the one who managed the help desk and ended up with all the irate callers that the CSR's gladly pushed my way. I think I spoke to some of the stupidest people on the face of the planet back then, Windows 3.1 and Trumpet Winsock users took the cake, at least the Mac people confessed straight up that they didn't have a clue what was going on, just that Eudora wasn't working... biggrin.gif

I still play D&D every other week, same campaign setting for over 24 years. Seriously.

They managed to infiltrate that far? Should've called an exterminator.

But I kid, I kid.

Speaking of Eudora, whatever happened to that Thunderbird clone?

POSIX sockets, POSIX sockets!

It was not a very busy day here in Canada.

Also everyone's changed avatars, way behind, old horsey.

After years and years of drinking milk, I've finally made the connection and attribute part of my digestion problems during the morning to that one cup of milk. Technically, we're all supposed to be lactose intolerant...especially considering that I'm not caucasian. But since I've had other troubles with my digestive tract I thought nothing of it. Now that I've replaced the milk with citron tea during breakfast, it's like my intestines have started glowing inside of me. Absolutely brilliant. No longer am I sluggish and bogged down by frequent trips to the washroom.

I know, you must be thinking, what an bamboozled ingrate this person is for not realizing it sooner. But let's all dwell a little bit less on the blame, and a little bit more on the Citron Tea.

Perhaps an injection of that heavenly tropical fruit as well...

Sorry to just randomly post (in the TMAC thread? Unforgivable!), but I don't have a lot of time to properly read the new posts because I'm at a buddy's house using his Internet. Mine is down (stupid storm), and I really needed it tonight. Why? Because I just sent my resume to the humanities department at my university--I'm trying to snag a webmaster position. Wish me luck, guys. smile.gif

I probably won't be able to talk to you anymore tonight on account of the Internet thing (it'll probably be back tomorrow), but I'll be sure to catch up properly once I've got service at home again.

I'm diggin' the clear teaware.wink.gif My French designed-Swiss made Bodum clear tea cup allows me to watch my Rooibos, Indian Estate or Jasmine Dragon Pearls steep in beauty. An activity that relaxes. Though, I only use the cup as a change of pace. I won't use these other teas inside my Gaiwan and prefer everything about the bowl over other teaware, from ceremonial prep, to steeping and eventual indulging.

Which reminds me, with autumn closing in fast, time for me to start shopping for tea and wares again. I rarely keep new purchases - I love giving teaware as gifts!

And yet without even trying you've managed to post something vaguely on topic considering the above posts. Goes to show how attuned you are to all things TMACian. That happens a lot to me in the washroom as well.

I wish you unluck. The opposite of luck. Oh god no wait I didn't mean it. Take it back take it back. No? It doesn't work like that? No givebacks? NOOOOO....

...now having cost the Arg his job I wonder which punishment is more fitting.

I've been playing Pathfinder (which is basically the same thing just a newer variant) with my uncle and some friends, for a few years now, after never playing when I was younger. My buddy at work doesn't get it.....he was an Everquest player and is now a Rift player online, and he can't understand why anyone would want to play a game like we do. I don't even try to explain it.....I think Fox News has rotted away too much of his brain to understand....lol.
