Cheese > pineapple......

Well you get cheese from curdling milk which is basically soup squeezed from the mammories of cows, sheep, and various others which primarily belong in the family of ungulate, domesticated ones whom primarily graze on herbaceous plants which happens to be a source of vitamin C, although nowhere near as high as the content found available in pineapples.

Therefore, cheesecurdlingmilksoupsqueezedfromthemammoriesofungulateherbaceousplantsvitaminCpineapple is perhaps the greatest passphrase of all time. Trust me I'm a doctor cryptologist hack.

I like cats. But cats aren't for eating. Cheese is for eating.

Here, let's put them both together:

Will anyone know if Warren's joining next month's TMAC, or is there another meet he needs to endorse. Sifting through the old posts made me realize how involved he used to be here (1st poster in terms of number of posts for this thread). It's sad.

(You're second and I'm sixth BTW)

Second? Really? Wow, I had no idea. I knew the majority (and a large majority at that) of my total extant* posts on Head-Fi were in this thread, but I didn't think I was a dominant force here. Just think if I'd actually been here from the very beginning instead of joining after about a month. I always knew I could get a bit long-winded (you don't even want to see some of my pedantic romps from the early days, most of them in Katun's threads), but I didn't know I could be prolific as well.

*I once took part in another epic thread, which was ironically enough another avatar club. I went from a 100+ Head-Fi'er to a 500+ Head-Fi'er in about two weeks, just from my posts in that one thread. It was eventually deleted because it constantly got out of hand, so those posts are no longer extant but still count toward my total. The thread was originally MLE's but was usurped by and became the stomping ground of a group called W.P.U., of which I was a founding member. I can't even remember what the acronym stands for, and I was the one who came up with it! Anyway, some members (not all) started causing mayhem in other threads, in the FS section, and even on other headphone sites. They started trolling admins (including our beloved Currawong, if I remember correctly), who proceeded to start closing threads where W.P.U. members had congregated and thread-crapped. At that point I decided I'd had enough. I'd tried and failed to be a straight man, Warren-like peacemaker in order to reign in the group a bit, and when I saw where things were inevitably headed I finally (and publicly, in order to try to save my reputation) exited the group.

This is all relevant. Bob--whose avatar thread gave birth to TMAC--was a member of W.P.U. One of our initial goals (before it all went to hell) was to adopt themed avatars, hence Bob's interest in people's avatar choices in general. No W.P.U., probably no avatar thread, meaning no TMAC. You could therefore say I was destined to become a TMAC'er because I was partially responsible for the sequence of events that spurred the creation of the avatar thread, and I think it's totally awesome that the idea I and a few others had about the avatars ironically came to fruition, even if it took a completely different group of people to come up with it independently and pull it off.

Not at all.

I actually remember the McProgger/young people/W.P.U crowd who had flowed in - almost like the AAMML young'uns but with more spunk and sass. And were far more prolific/widespread. The defining person for your era (to me) was bcasey though, always read his thread even if the topic didn't interest me in the least.

Remember that I had lurked back when wink was serious, the HCase (as in the site) was *the* pirate booty forum, pretzels were a hot topic, Erik still went on about his cats, and everyone was still stuck at the HD650/K701 level. Not yet a "Wizer" though.

The history lesson was heartwarming though. Ah the good old days where we still had ol fashioned bashing threads and measurement/graphs weren't as rampant.

History can be fascinating, especially when it involves the same people who keep meeting one another in different ways. I'd seen (and interacted with) several members of TMAC before I joined, which of course I only realized when I went back and read old posts. Achmed in particular seemed to think I had a pretty good reputation when he congratulated me on reaching 1,000 posts back at the beginning of TMAC.

And oh, yes, I remember bcasey quite well. He went through a period of buyer's remorse with his SRH750 wherein he posted around ten threads a day about it until people finally talked him down. Certainly harmless and maybe just a bit over-enthusiastic, nevertheless he must have rattled somebody's nerves. He might have more aliases than anybody else I've ever come across on here. A few of my "Andys" in this post are references to him. Kind of mean, yes, but on the other hand he probably should be proud that even now people still remember him.

When I think back to the period in question, it's always bcasey or buffalowings or McFrogger that comes to mind. The last two were just plain crazy sometimes. McFrogger's greatest legacy, I think, has to be the Andy thread. Buff's legacy was his uncanny ability to grind UE's nerves (or Lord Sennheiser, as Buff called him). I wonder what my legacy will be. Probably something to do with Sakaki. I actually adopted my original Sakaki avatar to try to convey calm reason and a vague sense of "Son I am disappoint" to Buff and McFrogger when they were screwing around. It worked, too. They said she made them feel like she was judging them. Then they did whatever they wanted anyway. Crazy.

Anyway, you were a lurker for a long time if you were around for the churro vs pretzel thing. That was one of those threads I read and really wished I could have been a part of, but it was years before my time. It was a lot like TMAC (especially once those damned pineapples slipped in). Here's another one:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/168584/what-you-dont-want-to-see-flying-over-your-house

I started lurking at Head-Fi a few months before I joined, figuring I'd sign up once I'd found my first keeper headphone, so there wasn't an appreciable difference between threads and members who were active when I started lurking versus when I actually started posting. I got to see the last year of UE's time here. He's awesome and I'm really sad he doesn't come around here anymore. I guess he's got other things to worry about, and real life should always come first. So many people have moved on, though. I wonder how obobs is doing. It's a tossup between him and Jude which theme was the most effective. I notice he's Scotty again. To me, he'll always be Scotty.

Wow, this was a depressingly nostalgic little post, wasn't it?

Nice to see some LOL Cats pictures...

I can haz cheezburger is where all that lol speak and cat pics came from...

Many pics of kittehs, ceiling cat and basement cat came from I can Haz...

Used to be a great site for a laugh then the format all changed and it became annoyingly painful to navigate.
