Hahaha none taken! Do we have a long history in audio products? I didn't even know that jeebus. JB, well I guess we can't forgive you for 90% of the songs on the radio biggrin.gif

Sure it is! They all look & talk funny up there.

After watching the Lakers lose to San Antonio, I retreated to the basement. When I saw your pix perched atop the stairs, it brought me right back up! ksc75smile.gif

Oh, we don't listen to the stuff on the radio.  That's all an elaborate practical joke we play on the rest of the world.

It's a joke that we perpetrate with much pain to ourselves, might I add, given the potential for accidental exposure.

It's best not to be seduced by that cruel temptress FM silkscreened by the source selector knob. Just say "No!" to FM. I listen to a different FM, Felix Mendelssohn, and it's an altogether better experience.

Yeah, listening to FM radio is almost as bad as listening to Beats cans - an experience I am not likely to repeat.

That actually makes me think of one of my vintage receivers. It spent the majority of its life (unused) on a shelf in an environment that must have been saturated with scented powders or candles and/or perfume-like substances. So every time I turn it on and the components warm up they give off a faint fragrance. I've taken it apart and cleaned it out once (for unrelated reasons), but it still retains a hint of that scent. I'd still rather that than cigarette smell, but it has gotten a few comments from people who were looking around, confused, wondering who lit the invisible scented candles.

Invisible scented candles. That should be a theme somehow...

ok people not to go ontopic, but whoever gets the most epic picture of homer being a Grade A very noticeable dumbass wins.

Now back to off topic. The first purchase I made on head-fi was my D7000's, the guy is not a very active member, and comms were a bit iffy, but mainly because of my paranoia. Everything went perfectly, and I even got some Beyer parts too.

Could not have been happier.

But I wouldn't do trades, too risky. And always tracking and insurance.

I buy atleast 3~5 things from the States, Hong Kong, China, UK and Deutschland (German heritage: I'm allowed to be pompous) per month.

Only ever had 2 issues, both of which were remedied by the sellers. If I can afford to wait - I won't buy locally.

Case and point: a heavy duty stator coil for my Honda Blackbird cost me $160 with shipping. Locally ZAR3000 ($340) for a standard one.

That makes so much more sense than what I was originally thinking... so let's just pretend that's what I was thinking all along.  smile.gif  It's all good.

Funny, I was just about to suggest such a thing.  You know, in exchange for those other things...wink.gif  Contact you in a bit.

Or a custom title. I may have finally said that dumb thing that I'm going to have to live with for the rest of my Head-Fi existence. I can see it now. "Purveyor of invisible scented candles."

Actually, I think your custom title should be "Wanted a custom title..."  wink.gif

I'm actually actively trying to avoid it, since a lot of custom titles are something of the equivalent of getting put in the dunce hat. Hence talking about the candles thing, I'm applying reverse psychology. If they think I want it, they won't give it to me, and I'm thus saved from having to answer a billion PMs asking what it means.

Unfortunately, by explaining all this in this post, of course I'm tipping them off. Gah! Things were so simple before Head-Fi! And headphones in general, really. Sometimes I swear they're the curious tools of a highly sadistic alien race, since once enthusiasts clamp the first one on their head, they usually spend a considerable portion of their lives (and their income) keeping them there.

Someone mash together Homer and this:
Preview?imageID=1569405&text0=Hi&text1=guys

Now this would both revive the Andy meme, and make some waves.

That has got to be the winner! biggrin.gif

You bet - most notably speakers. Paradigm, Totem, PSB, Fluance - and until Klipsch bought them, Mirage, Energy, Athena - plus many others.
