You didn't miss out on it. NOBODY missed out on it. You only missed out on it when it becomes December or Doh!cember.
Do it now if you feel so. There is no set member list or actual set comitee on who can vote. You can just jump in and vote or list stuff you find is cool and we will vote on it. Or if you want to participate. Just do it. We would actually welcome it. For example, due to the tremendous responce in OOO, we caused Obob to develop a severe reaction to anything Scotty for the past few weeks.

Eh I'll join in again on Doh!-cember but I'll keep coming back for more info! Too busy with school at the moment to be too involved

I found that very amusing. Wouldn't it be great if, by pure coincidence, he picked a Homer Simpson avatar for December, not knowing what we're planning in here?

Finally! Consensus!
Yay! Now we can get back to being off topic.
So don't laugh y'all, but I recently completed my very first HF classifieds transaction - it was a trade. It was a Head-Fi milestone moment for me.
I had no idea what to expect, but Beagle was ultra cool about everything so I had a lot of fun! Any good/bad stories about trading that y'all want to share?

I have a recent -1 feedback because I had a bad buyer... He wanted to buy my Sleek SA-6 as mine has broken parts (the Bass ports, treble tips) and asked for a reasonable $60 USD. The problem was he is from Lithuania and I've heard several horror stories where there are massive amounts of scammers there. Knowing how most Head-Fiers are reasonable beings, I went ahead with the sale and the problem occurred when shipping was a ridiculous $60 to there with tracking... Even though selling/trading without a tracking number is not recommended on HF and other places, I asked the buyer SPECIFICALLY if he wanted to continue with the sale and he said it's find to ship without tracking. I even warned him that I can't be held accountable after I ship it off and something happens, again he agrees. After the 3 week mark, he tells me it hasn't arrived yet. 4 weeks pass and he's starting to get agitated. Now after 6 months he files a dispute over Paypal without warning and him clearly ignoring my PMs on HF. I finally get pissed off and call Paypal and show them pics of the shipping receipt and the conversation between us and I get my money back. I felt scammed so I tried contacting him on HF and again ignores my PMs. Just to warn other Head-Fiers about this buyer/seller, I gave him a negative feedback as he did go against our personal terms and conditions and he gave me a negative feedback as well, which I don't really care what it says because in the end I know that I'm right, but in a way I'm foolish because I had it coming... Don't buy/sell/trade without tracking!!

That is sage advice right there. Though I can now safely say that, in some cases, it is not needed for personal protection. With certain people I trust, I'd want it in there so they can know when to expect it.

I have just stuck with CONUS on my trades. I don't know why but I just feel uncomfortable shipping out of the country. Have turned down a couple of offers but no big deal.
The only bad trade experience was a pair of MS400 that I acquired for my old modded M50s.
They got here and all but one thing I would never have thought of....... the smelled like a Swedish whorehouse -- it was like someone took them and drowned them in perfume. And I am violently allergic to strong perfumes. They give me severe headaches.
I tried EVERYTHING to get the smell out. I removed the pads and headband and literally drown them in soapy water -- no improvement, vinegar -- nothing, vinegar and soap -- nothing, alcohol and water -- nothing, finally I soaked them in 50% alcohol for like 3 hours and still nothing.
I literally had to sell them for the only reason that they smelled.
Learned a lesson to ask if people are dumb enough allow their cheap scented hair or fragrance products to soak into the soft parts of their headphones. I actually asked on my last trade and it all worked out fine.

That's something I never thought of. I've heard of people getting headphones that smelled of cigarette smoke, but never perfume.
That actually makes me think of one of my vintage receivers. It spent the majority of its life (unused) on a shelf in an environment that must have been saturated with scented powders or candles and/or perfume-like substances. So every time I turn it on and the components warm up they give off a faint fragrance. I've taken it apart and cleaned it out once (for unrelated reasons), but it still retains a hint of that scent. I'd still rather that than cigarette smell, but it has gotten a few comments from people who were looking around, confused, wondering who lit the invisible scented candles.

I have had very good luck with my few buys on head-fi - but they were all within CONUS and from members with at least a few hundred posts. I have never understood sellers that don't disclose everything about what they are selling. When I sell something, the LAST thing I want is to get that item back. I would rather disclose ALL and sell it for a few bucks cheaper. Doing a return and having an unhappy buyer would cost FAR more. I once sold an old 8mm camcorder that was busted on eBay. I had BROKEN*DOES NOT WORK all over the ad with lots of pictures. I sold it for 2X what I thought I would get - I had almost thrown it in the trash. I'm sure whoever bought it was a repair guy that knew exactly what was wrong with it and he could repair it and then sell it for 3X what he paid. I say great - we are all happy and we all win! That's much better than trying to scam someone.
