As have we all.  Well, maybe not bowei, he seems pretty straight-laced.

I believe the correct term is bamboo-zled....!!!

Mmmmmmm. Baaaacon. I wish I had some right now. I actually don't like it crispy but chewy. I had one of those Bacon Wave things for years and loved it, until it melted. I was on Head-Fi at the time, too, so that's kind of a weird coincidence.

I once came across a recipe for a heavenly concoction that was nothing but bacon and cheese and Italian sausage (neither bacon nor cheese, but we'll let it slide), woven together with barbecue sauce and barbecue rub. I just searched and came up with what I think is it:

I'd love to try it, except I might substitute more bacon and cheese for the sausage.

Also, you may have noticed that I'm rather straight laced as well, though I don't get bamboo-zled like Bowei. biggrin.gif

Sorry for the double post, but I just thought of something. The beginning of May actually marks a headphone-related milestone for me. Way, waaaay back in 2000 (it's sad that I can remember the exact year) around this time of year was the first time I ever spent a lot of time listening to music on headphones.

The reason was because my stereo at the time was on the fritz and wouldn't play discs anymore. I can date the period when this happened to the 1st of May at the earliest because I had won a piano competition at the end of April (the trophy says April 30th), and as a reward my folks decided to let me listen to classical music again*. So I spent the next several months walking around everywhere with a Discman and the crappy headphones that came with it. It's funny how I didn't care what they sounded like back then. Being able to listen to all my Bach and Beethoven and Pachelbel again--portably!--just about blew my mind, and that was all that mattered.

Anybody else here remember when they first started regularly listening to headphones?

*At various points during my adolescent stage my parents embarked on wholly unsuccessful campaigns to "normalize" me by forbidding me to do "weird" things like listen to classical music or watch cartoons. I think that says more about them than it does about me.

That explains a lot about you.

Which means that achmedisafolktale must have an unusual story to tell.

Almost as good as bacon on eggs burger with pineapple rings...

I'm probably the only kid at my high school that has the classical station tuned in on their receiver. I'm probably also the only that could be see out wearing Grados. I'm also probably the only on that's saving up for a tube amp. And I'm definitely the only one with all of Rush's early albums on original release vinyl. One could say that I'm a tad out of the norm.

Possibly, but he seems a pretty clean cut kid so I doubt that he actually has been.

I'm trying to imagine it, but I think its a sensory explosion that my mind can't quite handle.  I wouldn't mind trying a piquant take on that though.  Bacon, pepperjack, hot italian sausage, hot sauce (something savory and not so vinegary).

Okay!  So that explains the listening to Classical like it's going out of style... wink.gif  Pity you didn't have Asian parents.  Forced musical instrument lessons, and mandatory Classical at some point.  But don't even think about wanting a skateboard, they'll pull an intervention on ya because it's a gateway to gangs.  rolleyes.gif

And now it's time for a random YouTube video for no reason whatsoever.

Best served with "nip".
