If we're gonna do the "forgotten" thing, we should limit it to members that voluntarily left in good standing.  Because avatars are sometimes considered to be a form of posting or discussion, putting members that have been you-know-whatted within said avatars may constitute posting about or discussing you-know-whatting decisions, which we're not supposed to do.

In the case of krmathis, this is no problem at all.  But for some others, and you know who they are, it could be an issue.  Just throwing it out there fellas, before we jump into something rather troublesome.

There are no hard and fast rules against what we're thinking of above.  But if it ends up re-igniting all kinds of conversation about why who got booted (which would be against hard/fast rules), then Currawong is gonna have to work overtime just to keep on top of such things.  Personally, if for no other reason than to save Currawong some unnecessary grief, I'd say it's probably better to set some rules for who we're gonna [publicly] remember.

Yup, just now we were (a little bit).  I've done that on occasion, in fact that's how I got my custom title.  I think he was a little of both I think, but ultimately a part of the past.  We can talk about his amp all we want though, nothing wrong with that.

I agree with everything said above. Definitely we should stay away from controversial people if at all possible. My ninja tactics above were just me kidding around. There's lots of folks who have contributed over the years and whose posts I often come across when skimming through old threads, and I often feel like I wish I could have known them when they were around. Plus, their observations are often helpful. But sadly they've moved on, either because they just lost interest, or they got frustrated with the influx of new users, or Huddler, or they got too busy, or any of a thousand other reasons. Of course that's entirely their choice, and bless them. But they're definitely missed, and I just figured it might be a nice way of honoring the folks that came before us and gave to the community.

This was of course just a rough suggestion of mine, and I definitely think the committee should give it a thorough going over to find any potential problems (like we already have so far), and of course the floor is wide open if anybody wants to suggest something else.

Haha, yup.  It's a source of inspiration - and a limiter.  At one point, I was thinking about doing TV shows and album covers.  But that would violate the movie thing that we all more or less agreed on, so I just shelved the idea.

Yeah, especially since he's shown himself to have a good sense of humor about our antics here.....he seems to be a pretty decent fellow!

Surprisingly, I am drawing a total blank for next month.  I thought I had a pretty good idea for March, but then I forgot it.
