If I had to come up with my own description, it feels to me like what I imagine a good local Head-Fi meet would be like. Except, of course, without the headphones. From what I gather, at least, the best part of meets isn't the cans, but getting to talk to other people who understand your passion. So it would make sense that, since there's only so much that can be said about headphones and avatars, we'd end up just chilling for most of the time.
Now don't you regret not going to the Detroit meet? Of course, you could always plan a trip out the 2013 L.A. Meet next summer. It's gonna be two days long (the whole weekend). I imagine the Saturday night in between the two days will be quite fun in a very off-the-record kind of way.
BTW, there is a certain amount of listening that goes on at the meets. It is - bar none - the single best way to audition gear - as well as get the honest opinions of those who own said gear.
Oh right, okay sure! LOL @ Shower Epiphany©...
Okay... plus as long as Doc and I are on duty, there should be plenty to go around. Which reminds me...
Argyris, it looks like everyone is going to have customs this time around. So I'm converting your Jude January token into a "________ February" token instead. No sense wasting it on next month.
No worries. Even established TMAC members forget to perform sig maintenance. For example, Bowei still thinks it November. I've been waiting for him to clue into it, but no dice so far.
Haha, but back then, who would have thought we'd need it. It was just a little experiment back then. Hmm, I guess lots of spoiler boxes might help?

@warren totally gonna pwn you for longest quote - Ok I totally have no idea how you can do it, its just too much - I give up.

At this point, just web development. But I'm sort of easing my way into a possible CS major. Hopefully I'm not as hopeless at learning a programming language when I've actually got instruction as I have been the several times I've (admittedly half-heartedly) tried learning on my own. I'll probably find out next semester whether or not I'll be able to hack it.
Pretty much exactly the same as me, except my High school level art is better then most Varsity graduates. I prefer programming, my mathematical side coming out. Programming is just creative problem solving with rules.
We have found the chosen one.
I got the immune system of a tank, I can eat meat thats started to go green, reheat chicken, drink milk thats half way sour (aslong as its not chunky) without being phased, but I have horrible hayfever and when I do get sick (once every 2 years) I bounce off the walls. Oh and I have a weakness for some woman.

Well that explains the god-complex...

I've heard of various member lounge threads being described as cafes, bars, etc. I think if I had to describe this thread, it'd be a cross between a treehouse and a bedsheet/blanket fort/castle. It's like a neverending sleepover.

Wait, so you're saying that the strain relief on the plug is no longer an issue? Because that one guy's pic on Amazon (and the annotation that it happened twice) is what really bugged me. Maybe he's just a tool that doesn't know how to take care of his stuff?

Thanks guys! I've been popping Vitamin C-drops ever since I figured out I was actually sick. So far, it's a tired, slightly feverish sinus thing. No coughing yet. Maybe it's the weather. L.A. usually doesn't get cold. But this year is different. Low 40ºs are common at night this year. And my exact location (you know what I mean Silent) makes it even more frigid (high 30ºs).
Don't tempt me... I've been seriously thinking about a Magni and Modi stack all day. However, this has also been calling out to me lately... the TEAC Reference AH500:
Love that brass finish. Plus it'll drive some bookshelf speakers if need be.
EDIT: Ugh, borders around images look fugly...

I know right. It, frankly, blew up into something fun and interesting. Into a pillow-blanket tree-fort. With waffles.
Also be sure to check the OP once in a while, since I will take some choice quotes from the thread and let it be there for all eternity**.

My, how time flies. I'm currently posting from the Chinese restaurant just off campus, and I remember being in here over two months ago, and I was posting in this thread even back then. It feels like that was just yesterday.
The food trucks seem to have given up on Wayne for the term, the La Pita closed 20 minutes before I got to it, and I'm sick of Jimmy John's, so I figured I'd make the journey here. The pedestrian traffic lights don't work for half the stretch (perpetually stuck at "Don't Walk") and haven't for over three years, so there's always some danger involved in getting here.
Worth it, though. I just wish I had one of my headphones with me so I could watch some YouTube or something.

And now I'm back in the student center again. I was in this exact same spot about an hour and a half ago and ran into one of my professors and his colleague. I was supposed to go to his final class today but I hadn't planned on spending the entire three hours taking the bloody math final (the math class is normally 4:30-5:25 PM, with the other class starting at six). At least I got to tell him where I was.
Now something weird just happened about five minutes ago. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a pair of people whom I thought were my professor and his colleague again, but upon closer inspection it turns out that these people are like their Bizarro World counterparts: fatter, older versions that have that uncanny valley thing going on. Even the guy's hat is the same.

Just woke up, LOL, so I'll respond to the other good stuff later. But as to this:

I would like to move that we vote and finalize the movie poster thing (if that hasn't been virtually decided already) because if people are going to need help on shopping stuff I would like to start getting ready early. I have a vacation coming in 6 days and I am real busy at the end of the month....
@warren unless you want to do all of them?

Well I guess that pretty much sums it up in a word.....

Well we should set a date for people to get their "orders" in and we can split it up. Seems there are quite a few people who will just do their own too.
