Wait, so you're saying that the strain relief on the plug is no longer an issue? Because that one guy's pic on Amazon (and the annotation that it happened twice) is what really bugged me. Maybe he's just a tool that doesn't know how to take care of his stuff?
Well that explains the god-complex...
J/K Jude, you know I'm kidding right? Right?

Caffeine withdrawal, not now.....years ago when I did drink a lot more coffee, and also was still drinking a lot of booze, then I would get the headaches.

I really don't like the way they like hurt and stuff. It's like jacking into the Matrix, except no kung fu.
Were I not sick, I'd photoshop that for comedic effect...
+1 Also, getting better with the shorter posts.

Sorry to hear that. I had it get me about a month ago. I've still got a bit of a residual cough from the ordeal, and I know how much of a bummer it is being sick.
Plenty of rest and staying out of the cold are pretty common advice but nonetheless are generally good suggestions. I'm not sure how cold LA gets, though, so maybe that's a moot point.
Thanks guys! I've been popping Vitamin C-drops ever since I figured out I was actually sick. So far, it's a tired, slightly feverish sinus thing. No coughing yet. Maybe it's the weather. L.A. usually doesn't get cold. But this year is different. Low 40ºs are common at night this year. And my exact location (you know what I mean Silent) makes it even more frigid (high 30ºs).

Warren, actually you just urgently need to order the new $100 schiit amp and dac. That will make you feel better I promise

Don't tempt me... I've been seriously thinking about a Magni and Modi stack all day. However, this has also been calling out to me lately... the TEAC Reference AH500:
Love that brass finish. Plus it'll drive some bookshelf speakers if need be.
EDIT: Ugh, borders around images look fugly...

First of all, just wanted to chime in on some of the comments about this thread in the past few weeks or so... totally agree, it is so chill in here. No doubt thanks to all of you guys.
I've heard of various member lounge threads being described as cafes, bars, etc. I think if I had to describe this thread, it'd be a cross between a treehouse and a bedsheet/blanket fort/castle. It's like a neverending sleepover.

Will do. I tend to mull over purchases for a while, but I'm finding this one hard to resist. It's part of a whole line actually. I have no use for the tuner, but there's a CD player and a DVD player that might come in handy. Now if only they would augment the line with a music server and a DAC, that'd be awesome!

I do. However, more important than the environment is your position in it. Not achieving R.E.M. between the hours of 2200-0200 is stacking the odds against your immune system, leaving you utterly defenseless when your body needs to be at its best - fighting the good fight.
Even when healthy, we're battling inside - you were tagged in a weakened state, nuthin' impressive about the nasties there. I look forward to your being 100% warrenpchi soon!

Yeah, I do have pretty atrocious sleep habits don't I? Part of it is work related though... Thanks for the well wishes Silent!

On sleep, sadly, I indicted us both!

Now that you've made me aware
I'm going to bed right after this post! Though, at this writing I am not sleepy...and I'm craving!!!! If I weren't busy Thursday, I'd run down to The Cobbler Cafe on Crenshaw Blvd for some hot Peach Cobbler w/Vanilla Haagen-Dazs.
Then leave there for a Soul Food Kitchen a few minutes south for some Sweet Potato Pie.
And park under the nearest shade tree for relief.

I'm going TMAC when I awake, though...

Wait, we're deciding on one poster for everybody? I thought we were all doing different movie posters for each person?
Oh we're calling dibs? Okay then, I got The Godfather (or The Judefather) on lock.
Thanks buddy!

Hmm. Never quite thought about it that way, but given the other choices (bars, cafes), never ending sleepover make sense. And, like most sleepovers, nobody ever sleeps.
If I had to come up with my own description, it feels to me like what I imagine a good local Head-Fi meet would be like. Except, of course, without the headphones. From what I gather, at least, the best part of meets isn't the cans, but getting to talk to other people who understand your passion. So it would make sense that, since there's only so much that can be said about headphones and avatars, we'd end up just chilling for most of the time.
And then there's Currawong. I actually think the sleepover thing comes more into play here, and he's like the really cool parent who lets you invite all your friends over to spend the night and pops in every once in a while with some Cheetos and hands out a few custom titles. And, he's watching, just in case things get out of hand.
