The state of the thread brings to mind a particular thread title from another forum. "They all left". Well, at least Wink is still here.

I see the Great and Powerful Trixie TwinQY has returned to this thread, after several weeks' absence. There's hope yet for a revival!

Revival..? .  nah...!!!   more like death throes of a once great thread going down the gurgler......

Unfortunately for the thread, it seems that everyone has taken the ahola part way too literally. i.e. They're all gone.

You're starting to sound like wink. Oh, god, it's infected you! Soon, we will all be heralding the end of the TMAC thread, even as we post in it.

Wait, now I'm doing it! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Like I said, Zombie July....:veryevil:

On an entirely different topic - I've been playing with yet another movie suggestion site. Could be fun for you, or a complete waste of time. It's always difficult to discern between the two.

I've gotten to the 90% mark, and really it's gotten to the point where I've just been skipping every 5 titles or so (and these seem to be fairly ubiqutious titles). I tried being more honest with myself and not include the ones I've only partly seen, or barely remember. There just seems to be a big gap of knowledge on my part for movies from the '90s and '00s. I'm constantly unsure whether I've seen the movie, or if I've only caught a trailer/sequel (i.e. Saw series).

Here's a screenshot of what I've been recommended.

And just before anybody asks, no, my name is not Harold. It's not Kumar either. You have to sign up to go beyond a certain percentage in your profile. I took my inspiration from the last movie that popped up (FYI, I gave it a Good).

Ugetsu Monogatari as my #1 (100%) is a pretty good one. I've been recommended Before Sunrise, Ikiru, and The Seventh Seal before by a couple of other sites before. Aside from Ugetsu Monogatari, Stalker seems to have been the entry with the most longevity, having stayed on there after every update. I don't think I've ever watched it. Somewhere during the 40% mark, the recommendations had been predominately French or Japanese, and most were really good. Like Three Colors: Blue. That's now on my watchlist. Then it started evening out in terms of genre and country of origin. I think I liked the 40% recommendations more.

If anything, this led me to some interesting readings on the algorithms that they use for this kind of stuff.
