I was just wondering what everyone thought was better. Try to include pros and cons of each!

just now discovered the thread :) I had the impressions that the XB90EX are better. ask Dsnuts - he has both and gave me good advice about both of this...

The JVC FX3X bass is punchy, deep and crisp( high quality and almost good for all genres) and mids, highs are clear too with fairly wide soundstage and good instruments speration.

The sound is different... jvc is a canon with all the detail. Sony is an euphoric experience, lots of bass but not what i would call a canon. if you can get the jvc for a good price (ebay) then I dont know if sony is worth the difference. FWI the adagio iii would have the cleanest sound with a good amount of punch.

Which one is easier to drive?

Thanks, been trying to decide which one to get. I know that they dont sound the same but, it'll be my first experience with really bassy earphones. I have the triple fi 10, just trying tp get something different. Would you say that the difference in price is justified? Since ican get the JVC for half what the Sony cost.

that's a hard one. for what sony delivers (excellent mids, bigass soundstage and presentation) it was worth for me. may not be for you :) that's all about being crazy, you just have to decide to what extent :D

Oh I know trust me. I've been leaning towards the Sony because I have this feeling that the JVC are closer in presentation to the triple fi, and I want a different presentation for my second set of headphones. If am not mistaken, the JVC have a V signature like the triples. Thanks for your help, i guess I see the Sony's in my future. That or the adagios 3.

Just to add, I own both and they are not driven equally.  My 6th gen ipod nano dirves the JVC's to perfectly acceptable levels but the Sonys end up being too quiet for me.  There isn't a lot in it but there is a difference if this is important to you.

the adagios are good too, but their bass doesnt color the sound like the others. bassy yet very clear.

How easy are the adagios 3 to drive? Sorry but as I don't carry an amp this is important to me.

I dont either, and I havnt had a problem.

I'm a little worried that my iPod touch wont be able to properly drive the Sony's without an amp. How much volume would they require? Would the Adagio 3 be a better buy in that respect?
