Glad to hear that LOL!

Btw, your posts in this thread helped me quite a bit when doing research on the BE's, so thanks a lot.

Funny enough, I've been considering the possibility of putting the MK2 cable of the BE. Best of both worlds?

Maybe it would bring out more details on the BE. I may have missed it, but have you posted your Mk2-BE comparison yet?

But they have lots of bass, I've just never heard the mk2 so I wouldn't know the difference.... The head-fier whom I traded with assured me with his receipt from Amazon was for the BE, but there's nothing that says Bass Edition anywhere, except for the rumble in my dome.

I'm likely to keep these if they end up being the BE, but a part of me wants the candy cane cable.

I bet you got standard MKIIs...not the BEs.  Amazon has screwed up before on Monster Turbines for me before, and those don't even look alike.  So you might want to get the real BEs because those definitely have the candy cane cable.  Though I wouldn't switch FOR the cable...it's not horrible, but grey would be better.  If you like/love the sound, stick with them!  MKIIs are certainly nothing to scoff at.  ;)

I do like the sound of the MKII, don't get me wrong, they're actually really great. I'm just not so sure if these ARE the MKII, cuz from what I've read they're not supposed to have this much bass. But these are pretty bassy. I'm using the lavender hybrid tips and got lots of bass.... Just how much MORE bass do the BE have?

I'm waitign on eke's comparison so I can be certain.

The GR07 are, by nature, slightly elevated in the bass. Depending on what you're coming from they might sound very bassy.

Well I'm coming from M-100s for my main cans, and at work I use the GR07 mk2, and CKM500, and the first thing I notice is the much more forward midrange in comparison, while the bass quantity might be almost on par with the M-100..... It makes me wonder how much MORE bass the GR07 can really achieve.

I really like the MK2 it seems. It's just, the BE are what I really want, and I still look forward to eke's comparison. The great midrange and highs in the MKII are pretty fantastic, so I hope they're preserved on the BE.

They are. It's really remarkable, but there are a couple of trade-offs. After tomorrow I'll have no exams until Monday, so I'll be free to finish up the comparison then.

I'll have it up by Thursday evening...I hope.

That is exactly the combination I have...M-100s and GR07 BEs...it's a phenomenal pairing.  You still get the same mids and highs of the regular GR07 just with a slightly more elevated low end.  I haven't heard the MKIIs, but I had the MKIs and the BEs are quite similar from a presentation standpoint.

And btw...LendMeUrEars has the BEs and the MKIIs for $136 right now!

I have good news and bad news:

Good news is that I've found someone to loan me the MK1 (thanks ericp10!).

Bad news is it probably won't get here next Saturday or Monday, so it will delay the comparison.
