Yep, I got a response from them early this morning:

 Hi,

Nope, it does not apply to your order. Your order was one of the first few ones and we happened to have enough spares to make up the shortfall. It is only the later orders that had this issue as we ran out of the spares.

I hope this clarifies!

Regards,

Lend Me UR ears

Looks like I got lucky!

- are these comfortable with glasses?
- these vs turbine coppers and monoprice 8320?
- bass amount compared to ath-m50, v-moda m100, dt770 pro 32ohm?
- good for rap/hip-hop
- do they need or benefit from an amp? I got an e07k.
- worth it for $140 CAD?

That's a lot of questions, theses are comfortable with or without glasses, these can be worn behind the ear or hanging down. That do not benefit from an amp as they don't require a lot of power. These have amazing bass, more than the m50s equal to the m100s but not rally fare to compare these to a headphone. Definitely worth the money, I've had mine well over a year and still one of my favorites.

These definitely have less bass...especially mid bass...compared to the m100. Both are my primary headphones.

They are still definitely good for rap as I listen to about 85% rap/hip hop. Perfect headphone for it. I've also for a e07k and I normally just go straight out if my iPod or iPad...the sound improvement isn't worth the extra bulk.

I like the regular version though =w=

Yeah, the "bass edition" is kind of misguiding, the GR07 BE still aren't very bassy compared to most basshead IEMs.

Exactly.  Just a touch more sub bass when compared to the OG GR07 and the MKii.  I really wish I could find a full sized headphone that has the same sound signature.  Apparently the Sony MDR7520 does, so I'm giving it a shot.  I also think the AKG 545 does...but I couldn't get a decent seal to save my life, so they had to go back.

I'm honestly not sure, I haven't heard many full size headphones that sound like the GR07 either. I do remember the HD600 sounded a bit like my vanilla GR07, but that was a while ago so I'm not really sure how accurate my memories were.

I did hear the Hifiman HE-4 the other day though, and you may want to look into those too. I didn't do any direct comparisons to the GR07 BE but I could next time I audition them.

Akg k545 has a really flat low end though, how would that be similar?

Was thinking more along the line of the quantity vs. the rest of the spectrum and mostly making the statement to prove that the headphone isn't necessarily a "bass" headphone.

I can only say that the martin Logan mikros90 sound like them but better in every aspect 😎
