Is a DAP's headphone jack the best output or is there something better?

I want to connect a Flac player to my AVR, but not sure the headphone jack with RCA cables are the best way to connect it.

 

I realize that in most instances, this is the only option.

If you have an iPod, an LOD would be suggested. Some other PDPs have line-out in one form or another. Alternately, try another source for the files (like from a computer or network streaming device or similar) that has a line output. Otherwise what you're proposing is the best possible solution.
