challenge accepted. I may just ask jack if he can send me a spare for additional cost. what materials would you guys reccomend? Just good ol bulk OCC copper and some silver solder?

Yeah I'm not going to go overboard... $50 limit on the power cord... No conditioner and I'm not changing out all the cables so...
