Check ebay. There seems to be some good deals around a thousand.

Thanks guys,

Can these be compare to the Denons D7000?   As this is the only high end closed can I have.  Oh and the Edition 8s.

Very different from the Denons. They actually isolate like closed headphones (something the Denon's never really did very well). Actually they both compliment each other that way. I'd say the Denons are fun "U" shaped closed headphones with great bass slam and the W3000s more balanced with likely the best mids on any closed headphone I've heard.

How about the Edition 8s.  I know you use to have these as well.

The Ed. 8s isolate very well too (like the W3000s). They are a very different set of headphones. To my ears, the W3000s are the best closed cans I've heard/owned. But the Ed.8s are FAR more portable. I just couldn't leave the house with my $2k Ed.8LEs...no matter how hard I tried.

I use the Ed8 LE portably five of six days a week.  The W3000anv has a more full sized headphone sound to me and a more open sound as well.  More airy.  Very nice.

By the way, is there an IEM that get's close to the W3000ANV in mids and vocals?

Shure SE535 IMO.

I can't even imagine a full sized headphone let alone IEMs that does mids/vocals like the W3000, except other ATH's.  But then again, I haven't heard a whole lot.
