Headphone similar to HD598 but with more bass? - Page 2

Sorry to go OT, but PurpleA, is there a noticeable difference between the DT880 600 and the DT880 250 and if so, is it worth paying the price difference? (My amp can easily handle 600 ohms.)

First off, how much a price difference?

I would would say the DT880 Premium 600-Ohm is only very slightly better then the DT880 Pro 250-Ohm.

The only reason I bought my used DT880 600-Ohm is because I got a really good price (under $200),

It was an hour and half round trip drive and I paid cash.

You should be happy enough with the DT880 250-Ohm.

Yeah you will hear very little difference b/w the two models.

Get an amp. To start an e11 should give it plenty of power, I'm upgrading to a shiit modi for 100 because the e11 supposedly affects the clarity a lot, but Its still better than without an amp

If you're looking in the same price range, I don't have any personal experience. I do own the HD598 and the HD700. For me the HD700 was the natural upgrade since I liked the HD598 sound so much. Both are unlike the HD600/650/800 which are much more neutral. To me the HD598 and 700 are more "fun" sounding, which is something I like. The HD700 has more bass and discerns better than the HD598. The HD700 brings more depth to all sounds too. Just to let you know, the bass on the HD700 is not some cheap boomy bass. It is very smooth and really adds depths that makes the HD598 sounds thin in comparison. The HD650 is known to be bassier than the HD600 (and HD598), and the HD700 has a comparable level of bass, but is much more refined as many have noted.

If you end really liking the sound signature of the HD598 and are willing to spend more for an upgrade with a similar sound, the HD700 is worth looking into.

O yeah, you definitely will need a solid amp with the HD700.
