Wow. That's bad.

Have you tried the retailer you bought it from (or another retailer)?

I guess the only way to get some attention probably is to flood the dealers - and I mean as many as possible - with complaints about iriver not reacting to issues with their products and clearly telling them that this behaviour is the reason for not buying their products anymore.

The dealers should be the ones who might get some attention at least.

Maybe also placing such information about bad customer service in the AK240 section might provoke some reaction. It seems to me that they put all their ressources into the AK240 - and this is where you might get response.

Don't get me wrong - I do like my player  though it has it flaws - but iriver's business conduct is absolutely not tolerable and if they do not change their policy soon noone shoiuld buy heir products anymore.

With some real good new players on the horizon this will surely not hurt the audiophile community but only iriver.

I'm getting an X5 because it's cheaper and I'm traveling much less now.

Interesting - I'd appreciate your judgement when you have listened to both players

US distributor has been good. Don't know about Canada. Maybe try the US site and see if they're willing to assist even though they're only responsible for their market.

Does anybody know when will release new upgrade for AK100 ? About DSD playback.Yes,it plays DSD but it is getting slowly.

Maybe they can improve this problem in new firmware.

iRiver in California is the distributor for North America.  Anything in Canada is ordered and sent from the 'ghost office' of Irvine California.  They may have answered their phones and e-mails at one time but not lately.  It would be very nice to hear something/anything from them except Chapter 7 from someone else  :(   Doesn't anyone from iRiver look at these forums?

They have a phone now? :O  Still no response for my request for service to two emails, from two different providers.  Sigh.  Comes on Calyx or iBasso with a functional usb driver.

I believe I have read a post from a guy from iriver in one of the threads on the AKs - i am not sure, but believe it was in the 240 thread.

Alas I couldn't find the post.

We did have an iriver rep at this thread a while back. Wonder what happened to him :(

Yup. He was it. This is sad... some one should PM him.

Sad part is it doesn't seem to be effecting their sales.  The AK DAPs keep flying off the shelves with everyone hoping theirs will work out of the box and never need service.
