to match the miracle is.... quite a pain in the butt. and i'm serious.

So far the best pairing i have heard the miracles with, is the DX100.

So considering iBasso's sound signature, i guess only the DX50 or the soon to be released DX90 would pair decently with it.

But good luck trying or.. the leap of faith.

I would probably wait for X5 based on what I'm reading about it

But if consider <250usd DAP like FIIO X3 and Ibasso DX50 which do you think will go better with Miracle? cause definitely the X5 will about 150-200usd higher than X3 and DX50!

I have AK100 with Firmware 2.30, and I do not understand something:

Why  Cover Art  do show in "ARTIST mode", but not in "Folder Mode" and not in "Playlists" !!

I Want Cover Arts in my Playlist and Folder file list !    Does a Firmware revision allow that ?

Small Cover Arts show properly in "Artist mode" on the left of the screen (above), but....

Not in "Folder mode" (left ) nor in "Playlists" (right) ????

HELP......  :o   Do you have the same ?

Folder mode is folder mode lol.
If you browse your songs through explorer in windows you don't see artist pictures either...

If you browse by artist you are accessing what the media library registered and it is why you see the thumbs...

I don't buy this.   There is no reason why the stupid   logo could not be replaced by

Because in folder browser mode, the player didn't access/made the database for it to actually load the album artwork from

X3 is too dark and thick sounding IMO. I haven't heard DX50, but reports are very mixed (rough treble etc.) and preliminary comparisons with X5 consistently rate X5 higher (as it should be for the price).

It all comes down to your emphasis on price versus performance.

Of course, a second-hand RWAK100 would be the very best option. Or a second-hand AK100 plus a good, budget amp (e.g. Tralucent T1)

Rwak100 is better than dx50 almost in every aspect. Except user changeable battery.

the newest one , to do it the easiest way , you install iriver music management just to update your AK 100

Once you install the iRiver program (included on your AK100 or downloadable from iRiver website) there is an update button which will download and transfer the latest firmware to your AK

You can also download the firmware file (hex file) from the AK homepage (it is 2.30 at the moment), unzip it (if it is zipped), connect your player to your computer (this works with PC and Mac, start the AK100 first).

It will ask You if you want to use it as a DAC or connect as USB or connect as external disc - choose the last option (connect as external disc).

Now open your Windows Explorer (on PC) or Finder (on MAC) - You will see the player as an external drive.

Now just copy the hex file into the root of the AK100, disconnect and restart it. The Firmware will install itself without further steps necessary.

Then enjoy the new firmware and new look.

And the best part about doing it that way... iRiver won't completely smash your tags.  Just saying :P

OF COURSE THEY MUST BE, WITH 3X TIMES HIGHER PRICE

I JUST WONDER WHY THE ORIGINAL AK100 ARE NOT AS GOOD AS RWAK100 AND NOT MUCH BETTER THAN DX50 (IN CASE OF BA DRIVER IEM ) ALTHOUGH ITS PRICE ALSO 2X TO 3X TIMES HIGHER THAN DX50
