Yes, Copper oxidizes = turns green with exposure to air/salt/humidity. If it is protected from air & moisture by insulation it will stay copper colored.

Anyone else that uses WMA Lossless have this bug?

My Mk2 running 2.30 will play WMA fine IF the screen is on.  If it goes off because of the timer or forced with the button, then audio starts to stutter until the screen is turned back on.  Then playback goes back to normal.  If I encode the same WMA into FLAC the FLAC file plays flawlessly, screen on or off.

Grr.

I actually have this problem too with some of my ALAC files on my RWAK100. At first I thought it was the file but noticed as you have that when it "skips" the only way to stop it is to turn the screen back on. I think I still have an older firmware file on my computer. I might try and downgrade and see if that helps.

Have not tried any WMAs, actually, decided to convert my CDs to FLAC instead of MP3s/WAVs/WMAs. Before I had a mix of files, now I'm hoping to have only FLACs and MP3s.

I'm surprised I haven't had too many bugs or things with the player.

Only had 1 lock-up which I had to perform a reset (i.e. Power + Track for 7 secs), interface has slowdown sometimes and for some reason songs stopped playing. I just turned the unit off and back on again and it kept working without problems. Of course I haven't tried too many features like Bluetooth, cue files, etc. but that's not what/how I use my players. I can say though that, I'm happy with the player. It recognized all of my songs, created the library database without problems, accepted my 2 64gb microSD cards with no problems and can play in Shuffle mode through my whole collection!

YAY!

I face a very strange behaviour of my stock AK100 with some 24-96 FLAC files.

The DAP plays the first 3 songs without a problem, then plays the first 10 seconds of the next song, stops playing and tells "This file format is unsupported. Play next song?"

It then jumps to the next song, plays it for 8 seconds and again says "This file format is unsupported. Play next song?
After that it shows the next song and the UI refuses all commands but allows to exit the folder.

After this it refuses to play any song any more - I can navigate in the file structure and can pick songs - but it refuses any enter command.

I need to boot it to be able to play songs again. After the boot it again recognizes and play highres files.

I tried  this several times - happens all the time (in the same songs).

I tried playing the files on my Superuniti - no problem at all, so I guess it can't be the files.

Has anybody faced similar probems and has anybody got any idea?

my files are in flac, 24/96khz doesnt seem to have the problem you are facing. Maybe its your software? is it the latest?

Try reformatting the card and copy everything over again. Might be a corrupted copy.

Thx - had done this already. Still wonder how the same file can work with my streamer and not with the AK.

I just found that the DAp also refuses to play APE -files.

That's what happened to me when I mentioned that I had to turn off the unit!

I'm running 2.20 FW and probably just "saw" it once because I play in Shuffle mode all the time... Might need to try this...

Also have experienced songs cutting off before ending... not sure if it's a specific setting in the software (it probably is...)

I posted a generic thread about external battery packs (for charging on the go) in the Cables forum, but it doesn't seem to interest anyone there.

Has anyone here used a battery pack to change their AK100? Any output voltage issues I should keep in mind? I've been looking at the ones made by Anker.

AlterSack, try to move the highres files to the internal memory instead of microSD.

Has this worked before?

The player "stopping" has happened to me twice today (again).
