It is manageable but it is awkward.

I use my left hand to scroll down. It works though it's annoying.

yeah I usually do a bit of a flick to start it scrolling then use my thumb to grab the bar on the side as it seems to be a little less sensitive as to where you grab it when you are already scrolling.

I just set up playlists for artists/albums I listen to a hell of a lot, then a favourites playlist including a mix off all those.

Pretty rare that I actually scroll too much.

There is an RWAK100 on ebay

Just bought myself an RWAK100 off a user here. Only using an iPod classic 7g ATM so can't wait to plug in the W4Rs into it and see the difference. Stoked to be able to use my FLACs too.

Agreed that its annoying although I ended up using both my hands where the left hand grips the device and my right index finger do the scrolling.
Kind of a pain but hey, still love this DAP...

Congrats on your newly acquired DAP, hope it doesn't disappoint you coming from an IPod.

You'll love it! I use my RWAK100 with Miracles and it completely blows the 7G and (better sounding?) 5.5G out of the water - and that's before getting into hi-res!

Yes, I think the minor issues that remain are not enough to damn the AK100. Once modded or paired with an amp, I still think it's the best combination of all factors (size, UI, SQ, etc.) on the market.... for now....

In terms of size, the upcoming Fiio X5 is larger than DX50 according to JamesFiio so I think AK100 is still safe in the form factor zone.
OOT but gotta love the aesthetics of the upcoming AK10 , AK really knows how to make great looking devices.

Really. iRiver devices(the AK line) has one of the best form factors I've seen in any electronics. Awesome aesthetics as well as build quality. Finally some made in Korea products that's really good in build quality.

True, the main reason why I went for the ak100 instead of dx50... the aesthetics! smily_headphones1.gif

That being said, I really hope IRiver will include the iOS/Android USB DAC function into the AK100/120 series. Instead of forking out another $300 on another extra device to bring around, it would be really sweet to bring this function to AK100/120 users as another extra feature considering the very competitive market with other cheaper options around smily_headphones1.gif
That would really pull in more customers too

Well, the AK10 is cheaper than AK100 after all :)

Hence they could add that feature in to the AK100/120 which cost 2x and 4x the price to attract more ppl smily_headphones1.gif
Those who can't afford will still jump to AK10 if they are interested.

They could. USB DAC was added later for AK100 as well. But I'm not sure if the USB receiver of AK100 will accept android audio.

I have tried this and it locks up the AK100.

One of the issues will be that the AK100 charges from USB even when plugged in as a DAC, the Android device cannot provide the voltage.

I tried it with USB recorder Pro with no luck.
Actually locked up my phone and DAP lol.

This would indeed be a nice feature though.

I use my AK100-PB2 for music, be nice to just plug my Tablet into the AK100 - PB2 and watch a movie or the like.

Maybe wishful thinking though.

One thing I would like to see is being able to use the USB Dac without charging.  I worry while using it as a DAC at work that I am damaging the battery.

Scptt

Hi!
Any chance for the feature of a Android/iOS USB DAC feature to be implemented in future updates for AK100/120 as discussed above? smily_headphones1.gif
