so basically almost all multi-ba IEMs (generally most customs with around 16ohms) does poorly with stock AK100?

It depends on the phone....my heir 5.0's sound very similar out of the stock ak100 vs with an amp. No problems, yet the have 5 ba drivers

Once again i am going to shamelessly promote ck100pro pairing with ak100.

It is safe to assume that.

Well, not all multi ba reacts to 22ohm badly. W4 is fine for example. It's about how linear the impedance is.

Em... not sure if the w4r is different but it definitely doesn't sound right on ak100. In fact the only BA phones that sounded right on ak100 to me was the er4s and FAD heaven4, and they are both single BA.

Well, T-PEOS H-200 has a dual BA, and it has no issue with AK100. W4's sound does change, but the changed sound isn't bad.

Agree. I have no problems with my ACS T1, Fitear TG334, Shure 535SE or AKG K3003. All this on the latest FW. Of cos they sound better with the AK120, as they should.

On my previous stock AK100, the roll-off bass is very noticeable on my TG!344, but no change in sound sig on my Momentum.
I upgraded to AK120 and never been more than happy, but I haven't tried the HM-901 though tongue.gif

I just got a new AK100 the other day and upgraded it right away to the latest 2.20 firmware.  I'm having a problem with a small number of files that I've loaded onto the device and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Basically when a particular song is allowed to play all the way through, it will cut off a few seconds short and go to the next track as if the song were over.  If the song is played from the start but the position slider is adjusted and jumped anywhere in the file, it will finish the track properly and play those remaining seconds at the end of the file, so I know this isn't caused by the file being cut off when it was copied to the device/SD card.  I can also copy the file back off of the device and play it on my computer and it plays all the way through in iTunes and VLC.

However, the song length time shown on the AK100 is a few seconds short of what iTunes reports it as, which would line up with the point where it gets cut off.  For one particular song, iTunes shows it as 3:32, but the AK100 shows it as 3:16, and it does cut it off at 3:16 in the file.  But as I said, if I skip around in the file first, it will play the seconds after 3:16 though the total song time or the current time never goes past 3:16.

I've had it happen on a few VBR MP3 files and I think at least one Apple lossless file.  It certainly doesn't happen with all files (there are a few thousand on the device and SD card) but the few it does happen with, it always happens on those files and always cuts off within about 2-10 seconds of the end of the file.

This issue has been reported before.

If I remember correctly it was something to do with the AK100 taking an average bitrate from 'x' number of samples throughout the file and working out the length of the track based on the file size and the calculated average bitrate... in VBR files where the bitrate fluctuates a lot then it can report and play the wrong length file.

A question regarding the volume knob protection (http://www.ebay.com/itm/121139987120?redirect=mobile)
How is it attached to the player? Just hanging on the knob? Or it's somehow attached to the body?

Hey guys,

i am having a problem with my AK100. It basically will not do anything. It would scan the library as it says it is out of space but i have deleted all music off the device. I also can not upgrade firmware as it thinks it dont have the 50mb free needed. I have reset setting but that does not help. Is there a way to do a factory restore, to like make it as if it just come out the box.

I have a Dignis case and didn't even have to use the double sided tape. just slid the protector on and put it in the case where it's held nicely.
