Pulling my leg are you. I though the $ 600 was alot but $1000 + is beyond me. Not sure where I got the 600 from, maybe I am mixing up some of the price tags on the Hi-end players.

Reminds me of the story regarding Lab 47 and the amplifiers the make. Great amps but way over priced. Still would love to own one but only when I win the big one:)

When I will my Year Player I will be more then happy to meet with somebody who have the I river AK 100 to compare flac vs wave, same file same IEMs.:-)

Nice looking. Though the design fault of the over-protruding rotary command button on the AK100 is made even more evident here:

It would need a case that engulfed that knob way more for it to be safe from eventual dammage.

i saw the aK100 a week ago and they are alot smaller than it looks in the pics haha... sorry for being outdated!

Any info on the previously mentioned "Higher and lower" end versions? I know that some people in here have asked about the higher end, but I am more interested in the lower end A&K. You know, keep the design which I like. Use the UI, which will likely have some bugs ironed out soon, and maybe just "downgrade" the amp section to one that is made for "low end iems" as they put it. I would love a less expensive version downgraded to a lower output impedance. I would probably be sold.

Hopefully they will look into their amp design on these supposedly new versions. If not then "WOW" lol. What more can be said if you shot yourself in the foot more than once. :P

I might get some matching EIM's having said that the price of EIM's and the AK100 will buy you a DX100 or HIFIMAN 901. Still am a fan of iriver and hope they will kick some ... with this new DAp. Here is me hoping that they will correct the few flaws that are present in the AK100

Now to compare this with the Altmann Tera,and iBasso dx100

If you haven't seen nor heard the Tera Player DAP, please try your best and listen to it, if you can find one near you.

The build qualuty is awesome and te sound is very very good, considering the small size...and yes is built by hand in Germany, thats should say something.
