Ahhh!

Nice amp. Wilson of Jaben SG had me try that amp with AK100 and TG!334.

Marvelous sound, pity about the size though.... Makes me wonder why they use AA batteries instead of 9v cell

AK100-S concept is interesting. Have the money for a transportable rig but been holding back for many months. Have since discounted the M8 and HM901 for various reasons. AK series and Clas -Db triple stack remain on the long-list.

What would be really nuts is if someone paired the S with the MK3 B+ biggrin.gif

double post...sorry

Also don't forget that Vinnie's mod will correct the impedance issue, as long as your external amp is good for IEMs...

Imaging the AK100-S with the new RSA Lightning......... stirrings......

yeah, that would be totally nuts!

Paying a few hundred dollars to fix a high impedance issue (and a few more $$$ to change dac) then pairing it with an amp with an unknown output impedance. Totally nuts! smily_headphones1.gif

And on an unrelated note: hey Vinnie, how does the rwak100's DAC implementation impact battery life? Also thanks!biggrin.gif

From the website:

Q: Besides requiring a headphone amplifier to drive headphones and removing the digital volume control, does the RWAK100-S modification alter features/functionality of the AK100 in any other way?
A: Due to the higher current draw of the WM8741 dac compared to the stock WM8740, the max. play time of the RWAK100-S is expected to be up to 20% shorter.
