AK100, DX100, Colorfly C4, Tera Player.

All aside it is actually fun to read up while listening to some music smily_headphones1.gif Still after 2 weeks of looking and comparing I am not the wiser. Main problem is that None of these players can be sourced locally and all have one or 2 draw backs. Sigh.
Get a clip+ or clipzip, add a nice amp of choice, enjoy!!!

That actually bcrossed my mind a few times get a mid range player and amp it. I have a RSA Shadow

Alternatively, you could get an Android DAP with µSD slot that supports USB Audio out and use a USB DAC/HAmp with it.

Yes, true. But the clip+/zip>amp combo is under $100. And the SQ you'll get is excellent.

I got the iBasso HDP-R10 and its much much better than the DX100, which is weird, coz they're supposed to be the same thing, only one's from Japan (former) and the other's from iBasso itself (latter)

DX100 does support AAC and ALAC files. AK100 does not.

Sucks to be AK100.

Gentlemen,
as I can see, nobody has tried comparing Hi-Res FLACs and uncompressed WAVs on this DAP?

I'm interested in your thoughts about this. Could we carry on this conversation in the HDP-R10 thread please? I'll bring your comment over there :-

If you had read the first thread based on it you would know. Now, I'm not at liberty to discuss it further. Still, I stand by my prior statement. wink.gif

I at least want to see the RMAA results on it. Seems like the owners are quite adamant about doing the RMAA testing on it lol. I figure if its as neutral as they are claiming it should be ruler flat. I kinda have my suspicion it has rolled off treble but who knows ;).
