Sorry about that, havent had the time to do a video review since getting back. Real busy with work here... Though one of my friends had a go with the AK100 with his Westone 4s but he didn't really notice much of a difference than with any other device...

If it is truly OPEN SOURCE, I really wonder what the reasons that keep many companies not to support it...?

Colorfly no AAC or ALAC

Hifiman no AAC or ALAC

iRiver also no AAC or ALAC...

Is it so difficult???

Hifiman 901 will support ALAC. The question I would really ask is "Why is iRiver lying to cover up things?" First they advertise this player as being an audiophile player for Sensitive IEMs & even get caught lying in the RMA testing. Then in an email they respond saying they never advertised the product for IEMs and instead for hard to drive headphones. Please!!! rolleyes.gif ibasso also supports ALAC so I don't see it as impossible. In the end what is really comes down to is laziness and poor judgement. I could really care less about the ALAC support but the 22 ohms is simply a no, no. But ALAC support is a matter of firmware update most likely.

Can we have a iRiver Ak100 video review or not?popcorn.gif

Doesn't have to be complicated, just a video with basic functions and if you can compare it with other DAP's and IEM's or headphones.

Thank you!

Thank you seen those before.I want to see a proper review video in english is possible.

Can we have more info on Ak100 with W4R combo?wink.gif How is SQ, soundastage, is the fregvency response affected?

1. just go through the basic operation is easy..

2. further review including comparison with C4, HM601, ipod touch w. or w/o fostex hpp1 pairing with W4R UE900 SRH1840 can take some time.

However,

I only have a Sony Ericsson Arc S as my Video Recorder...

I don't  know whether i can take vid of anything in close distance clearly, this is a problem.... Sigh!!!confused_face.gif

[ the most head scratching thing is ..... which music or song to be selected as test music.... may be "chesky records ultimate demonstration" ]

If you would like to feel the 3 dimension of AK100:

Those links don't work for me.

So how does it sound?

IMO.... it sounds like Ibasso D12. (at low Gain, medium Volume)

Thank you very much for the videos, finally managed to see them.I have few questions for you.Is the volume

Potentiometer a quality one? Do you know if is ALPS? Does the DAP gets warm if you use it much? Does it sound better then Clip+? I am considering buying it if the price drop to 400 usd.

is digital volume... volume is touch screen changeable , the step are 0.5 from 0 to 75, thats 150 step, how much decibel in between... unknown to me

more details than clip+

more storage than clip+

more expensive than clip+ lol

is a very good transport

it does go warm, probably because is full aluminum

maybe u would like to wait for a lower end model of this A&K series

it seems they are still struggling with some firmware problem for ak100

Thank you for your anwers, at this price i was expecting analog volume aka ALPS, and i was hoping that the player won't get warm.

How does it pair with Westone 4R? Do you think they will fix the roblems with OHm output in the next firmaware?

How does those 24/192 soungs sound?

with some alps potentiometer... the casing gonna be at least 5mm thicker, not much benefits, if its become larger... I wouldnt buy it...

digital volume has its own merits...
