As vinnie already said and something related to battery and output current that I'd rather not say as it'll lead to another endless debate.

Easier and cheaper to implement correctly.

How do you get your AK100 to open to the last song when turning it on?

Mine did this from day one but today started to open like this:

Optical Audio Input

Astell & Kern

Optical Audio Input

And then I have to make a choice rather than just having it open to the music. The choice to make is Astell & Kern to get to the music.

Ideas on where to set this?

Wierd, my AK100 always reverts to the last song played when booting up. The menu you see should only be displayed when the optical mini cable is connected to the optical out port. Do you have anything plugged in to the optical out port?

Perhaps resetting all settings within the settings menu could help?

I have the headphones plugged in but nothing on the optical in. I have it connected the same way as always but it keeps coming up with the same menu. It has worked correctly until today.

Finally placed my order, I once made a joke that if i ever see it sell for 400 I will buy it and I was able to find it in that price and I decide to be the man of my words and committed to the purchase. Have my expectation super low, I am just glad that I do not have to resample my files anymore.

Going to compare it directly against the DD socket 1, at the end of that comparison one of them will be up for sale.

At $400.00 that isn't such a bad deal at all :).

Will to tell the truth it all together was 449. Loving my rocoo BA however after 3 months of separation i got it back yesterday and the apple UI has made me super lazy. Still has the stiff button problem but loving the sound, not going to send it back again.

PS:I think Jack has uploaded a new firmware on my unit, it scans and booted my unit which contained 59 GB of 24/48 WAV and 16 bit flac was up and running under 15 seconds! I think it is the firmware they are going to use with the new upcoming studio V.

Why cant they make a different UI, I still prefer my Rocoo BA over my DD socket 1 and ipod touch!

/Derail ended here

lol I know where you are coming from. They are intending on adding an extra button to accommodate for going back in each menu instead of back to the root menu. So that should pretty much solve the UI issues for the most part. Still I'm not sure how they will address the lag issues in the other menus besides resource menu.... Still I don't use such functions on any of my other devices, so I could give a rats @ss :).

Lag can be easily solved by adding more on board memory or using a more beefy processing unit, however it will add to the cost. With a better UI I think it will be a real hard challenge to beat that.

I am really digging the ACS T15 and Rocoo BA combination, I hope the AK100 is on par with hisound, if it is I'll be more than happy. I know you had the AK100 and sold it, kind of worrying over that but the deal was too good to reject.

What amp with the DD will you be comparing against the AK100? Also, just to confirm, it is the AK100, not RWA version? Also what headphone will you be using when you compare?

Just curious cos as you can see there are quite a few variables at play.

Well synergy will play a role in that as well audionewbi. So I'd say don't worry about it until you have the unit in hand and burned it in. I just didn't find the RWA AK100 to be an upgrade over what I had and an actual downgrade with the IEM I was using it with. So in that your millage will vary. But if you do ever get the 1Plus2 in the future the Studio V is by far the best I've heard them sound on any portable gear for that matter.

Hey, I will be doing the following method for my testing

Part I-Setup

--> Comparing them with each other:

  1. AK100 standard
  2. AK100 +Arrow 4G,JDS O2,JDS C5, ibasso T5
  3. DD socket 1 +Arrow 4G,JDS O2,JDS C5, ibasso T5

For headphone/IEM I will be using the following items:

  • Sony MDR-EX1000
  • ACS T15
  • ER4S
  • CK100PRO
  • fischer's Audio FA-003 Ti (
  • XBA-4
  • HFI 780
  • k702
  • ES10

Part II-My reference

-->I will be comparing Part I various combination against my own references which I know quiet well, so I can comment how much better sounding they are:

  1. iPod video + Arrow 4G +ER4S (best synergy)
  2. Rocoo BA+ACS T15
  3. C5+ODAC+ CK100 PRO

Part III-Tracks

I will decide on this over this weekend, I will do my best to do a 10 track selection, I will do my best to find the one which are online so you guys can test it too. I cant promise but I need to double check for copyright, I will reduce the tracks I am testing down to 1 minute and upload it for you guys so you guys can test that for yourself as well.

If all goes well and the combination is worth keeping I will produce an indepth review, if the product was not to my liking I will produce a half page review.

Please give me any feedback on the above setup, I have never done such things so very new in doing this.

I am on the list of testing the RDB+ V2 Australia tour, I love to own something like 1Plus2 but my problem is I am not good in saving up. My income right now allows me to do impulse purchases of up to 500, purchases that require more it saving right now is beyond my ability, for some reason money saving is not one of my strength, if I dont spend it on audio-gears I will be spending it on family/friends (which is a good thing from time to time, however not always as pleasant as a new IEM )

Just graduated from my degree so as soon as I get a job in my field placing an order for 1Plus2 is right on my list :-)
