Yes, he said there engineers are working on the solution for the AK100 to go gapless.

Good to hear, although gapless isn't a huge deal for me, it would be nice to have the option.

It is also good to hear that they are listening to comments/suggestions, even if it is perceived as simple addition. Better than nothing.

As they say, once you go gapless... normal_smile%20.gif

Do appreciate gapless support especially with live concert recordings where a silent break between tracks do tend to spoil the " live" mood a little.

Has there been any definite news on that front?  That could be worth the wait.

Cheers

Can't find anything related to that topic so far. It would be very interesting to see if they can come up with entry- to mid-level gearpopcorn.gif

I don't see why iriver, who made the Astell&Kern brand out of nothing so they could give an "upscale" feel to this device, would then immediately dilute the brand by offering entry level gear under it.

I bet A&K will remain as a high end only. maybe one level down. they might sell something for 400 or 500. but that's it. entry level stuff will be iriver branded. the higher end stuff is A&K branded.

It was mentioned earlier on in the thread that iriver had mentioned the release of more players under the Astell&Kern branding. They had said there would be differing price points, and the players would meet differing needs.

Now, I'm not going to locate the exact post, so if there's any questions please enjoy the read.

This makes perfect sense. When they come out with a new model its going to be in the same class, if you will, as the AK100.

Does anyone have a RWAK100 for sale and maybe hasn't listed it in the For Sale section yet? :) I am interested in buying it, if so. (I'd post a WTB over there but the system doesn't allow me yet... sigh)

I might have one up in two weeks depending on how I feel about the RWAK100 sound (and separating myself form itunes) when I get it back from RWA in a couple weeks. no promises, though :)
