Rudi's picture gave me a reminder. I'm pretty sure optical out on the RWAK100 doesn't require any 'burn-in' (I mean what could change? It gets's brighter literally??). Anyhow, not really a believer of optical digital out burn-in, I thought this is something I could actually test now against my DX100.
Unlike Rudi's golden ears test, I have to admit that at least to my ears, I find it hard to discern any difference between the RWAK100's transport out in comparison to the DX100. If any, I may even go as far as to say that I may lean back a little more towards the DX100 as I feel there's somewhat slightly better imaging and soundstage than the RWAK100's optical transport out. Maybe there is such thing as burn-in for optical transport out?
P.S. as a side test I did throw in Go-DAP 4.0 Optical test out too and the Go-DAP 4.0 was bright and forward. Felt I lost the 3Dness with the Go-DAP.

Converting form Lossy to Lossless won't get you better quality. Lossy is Lossy and you can't get back the info lost from conversion from Lossless to Lossy. I say not worth using mp3s generally unless space is your up-most concern or you can't obtain the tracks in Lossless. I rather have better sound quality and I get that from Lossless. Heck I'd be using WAV if the space was available because even I feel that sounds slightly better than FLAC. But until space goes up and is cheaper I won't even consider it. I use cPlay for that very reason and I still feel it is the best sounding player on the PC. I put it to VHQ, Phase 20, bandwidth 95.
You should check out Ogg-Vorbis. Starting at Q6 it gets really very hard to hear the difference between the Ogg files and lossless. I mean, the difference is there, but the gain in space is remarkable compared to the level of SQ.
PLUS... and this is a huge plus for me, Ogg-Vorbis supports ReplayGain.
The problem is that you can't play Ogg files on ANY Apple device, unless you have installed RockBox.

At the office I need to use a " non leaking " closed type headphone. So, which High-quality "non leaking " headphone do you recommend with My ( Very Soon ) coming RWAK 100 ? Has someone tried with a AK100 an Ultrastone Edition 8. Or Ultrastone Signature PRO ?
Tanks in avance
IEMs. No leaks at all. Problem solved!

lol your quite the comedian -
I think the riskiest part is when you take the kit out of your bag inflight and start plugging in cables - I always get the iems out first and stick them in my ears just to help reduce those paranoid looks though I wont be at all surprised if i get a tap on the shoulder from a flight attendant one day

I used to owned this JVC turntable back in the 80s and was using the SME 3009 tunearm. Sold it for a Heybrook TT2 turntable and eventually switched to SME 3010R as I addicted to those moving coils cartridges

Gotta love those MCs!
I think we all have stories of regret of the gear we've sold...
Hell, in 1987 I was somehow convince that CDs would provide perfect sound forever, so I gave away ALL of my LPs! Can you imagine how hard I kick myself every single day?
Just one of the many reasons why I drink...

lol you make me feel like a baby. I was born in 87 :P. I definitely have much more appreciation for older music as it was quality over quantity (sadly the mantra of today, less is more).

I had to fly to Italy to teach a 12 week course for a project we were doing and I pulled out my humble iPod Video and cMoy BB Altoids setup on the Alitalia flight...
Well...lets just say that the flight attendant wasn't very "open" to believing that my setup was for music only...I was "asked" to keep the rig in the overhead compartment for the flight. Luckily I had my laptop with me so I used that with my CIEM's instead. I wasn't happy, but I wasn't about to argue with the people I was about to spend 7 hours in the air with.
When I fly now...I just use the iPod Video and keep the amp in the carry on. That's a big reason I'm interested in this little RWAK100...if it can eliminate the necessity of the piggyback...that's a win.

Holy crap really?? I remember when CD's came out and a lot of guys thought that they were the wave of the future...
I kept all my LP's...have been offered some crazy money for some of them too...but figure...wait until we have kids...then use that money for some of their college. And if we don't have any...it's a win...I keep all of them...or trade them in for the money for another Harley! LOL
