T-Peos H-100 Hybrid IEM Appreciation Thread - Page 30

Well, I decided anticipate my first listen with the H-100 for tomorrow (saturday here) instead of sunday! They'll have between 50 and 60 hours on them by then, so I guess they'll be good to go... ph34r.gif

I'm surprised you've held out this far.

Are you kiddin'? Now, this is just my first impression, but **** me, if I'd be listening exclusively to Vivaldi, I'd never need any other earphones ever. Yeah, I'm sure they'll gonna suck for other stuff biggrin.gif Still, impressive for the first hearing.

It's a commitment kind of thing... tongue.gif

One thing I can say by now, from the perceived volume I hear from them while burning in on my desk, the H-100 seem to require less volume from my RB Clip+ "burning machine" than the GR07 for example. If I unplug them and plug the GR07, these definitely play louder!

What was that EDM track someone posted here earlier? I didn't really like it but I see how they're meant for each other with these phones.

Currently listening to the Tron Legacy OST by Daft Punk. Lovely. Bass bloated a bit, I expect it to clean up a bit with some hours.

I already see I'm gonna have such a massive headache from this sound but it's gonna take some time before I'll be able to put them away.

I went for a walk with the Cowon D2 and your settings, used a PA2V2 portable amp with it. These things respond well and can sure take some juice.

Also I had them on and slowly forgot where I was fading out in a different reality in front of my computer here earlier. haha .

More later glad to see someone else . Man almost 700 thread views since yesterday.

I have a pal who runs the Intelligentsia coffee place here so tomorrow i have the day off and am gonna go up to get him to translate the grey warranty card for me. Yeah he's of Korean descent. If its anything interesting i will bribe him to write it down for us. That and show them off.

Not much time on them tonight i have been tweaking and testing some mods on 3  orthos, only about 10 different trials thats's all :) Throwing these H-100 on again asap.

And welcome  PMAP!!!!!!  Good call on these eh.  What model did you get?

From what I're read in this thread since it's beginning, that's the idea I have about the H-100. They will excel in some specific music genres, like classical, symphonies, EDM and unplugged recordings. My problem is that those are the genres I listen to the least, and that's why I'm a bit concerned if I'll be able to enjoy them as a "full time" IEM, like I do with my GR07... redface.gif

This EDM tune should sound amazing on the H100. smily_headphones1.gif

Btw, if you really want to burn IEMs in properly... play some psy and goa trance through them for a while. biggrin.gif

Well they're doing Britney Spears pretty well, you should be ok. I don't go much more rock than Bon Jovi these days. I imagine Megadeath is going to sound pristine clear though. I tried using GR07 earlier today again, they lasted about two minutes before I lumped them. redface.gif they just sound muffled and FLAT. There's just no soundstage depth or dynamics to them in comparison. The imaging is also a weakness.

Very interested on your incoming thoughts putente.

Yeah that doesn't seem likely even for me. But I always have at least 2 earphones for different occasions.  Usually one bassier set for outside and one brighter set for insides. It's already obvious these are better suited for the latter task.

Thanks, indeed the style how they throw the ton of details in your face is pretty impressive. I'm already hearing some stuff again I thought the Clip+ can't handle.

Yeah that was the Kalya. I'll check it out again.

Thanks biggrin.gif I got the KG. I was a bit worried that diamond pattern may be uncomfortable but fortunately that's not the case.

Well, BS isn't a music option for me, and I don't even see BJ as Rock, maybe some heavy Pop-Rock... tongue.gif

The problem with Megadeth is that most of their albuns (or even all of them) have really bad mastering, and you need some very good and forgiving IEMs for them to sound good! Tomorrow will be the day for me... biggrin.gif

Here's a free album which you EDM/H100 guys may like: http://music.biggiantcircles.com/album/max-effect (FLAC is also available). Just listening to it.

I have H-100 going now for you through my E10 (bass off) straight from utube, with Megadeth 'rust in peace' there's a lack of mid-bass which isn't filling out lower mids, feels like I need to bump the bass up a touch, would certainly help, the mid range is a tad light on guitars, drum detailing though is excellent, even from utube the layering dynamics and separation just out weighs everything else.

It's just so damn 'clear' vocals especially, even giving me a little goose bumps. It's like listening to 1080P compared to standard definition. TV. tongue.gif I think even if the mid-bass lacks a touch or you require to give the Clip+ +2 bass the other areas I mentioned will just penetrate through to much....
