T-Peos H-100 Hybrid IEM Appreciation Thread - Page 71

I stumbled across these tips on ebay a few weeks back and thought I'd give them a try for H-100, they took 31 days to arrive though.

I'd all but forgotten about them actually. Today they turned up, they're similar design to GR07 tips but slightly more olive than oval in shape, where they interested me was the bore size being slightly bigger than GR07 which is what I was looking for. On checking them today the bore tubing is really rigid meaning it can't flex easily and appears to give the sound some extra snap or re-enforcement. They fit tight, there's no loose fitting and ....yeah, pretty much give 'em a try.

All this tip experimenting isn't trying to find the right sound from H-100, I've found that out of the box, this is more just tinkering around with much less of a cost.

I'm pretty happy with the results and for $1.30 you can't go wrong trying really.

how close are those openings to the V-moda ones? Also the overall size/height seems similar. Are they ?

The bore diameter is inbetween GR07 and stock. Let me get my callipers .....

Bore sizes

Vmoda tip: 3.5mm

GR07 tips: 3.5mm

ebay tips: 4.0mm

Stock tips 5.0mm

excellento. Thanks 2 sets 'o tips are on their way, Thanks for taking the time to measure that. I found a different seller though on .com hope the 31 days is substantially reduced.

It's also about how rigid the bore tubing is.

With the MH1C, Vmoda or GR07 tips you can pinch them very easily and they'll fold or close in on themselves. These tips are rather thick with have solid bore foundation (or wall). That's what I like about them, they seem to have lesser dampening effect on the sound, and the comfort is rather impressive.

The ODAC + Leckerton UHA-6S MKII (OPA209 opamp) has become my (stealthy) portable rig of choice.  It's a resolving beast.  I pumped the H-100 through this rig tonight & was thoroughly impressed with the sound quality.  Some might think this combo is too neutral.. but just take a listen to this beautiful (well recorded) downtempo/jazz track that allows the H-100 to "flex its muscles,' so to speak.  It sounds downright gorgeous with the ODAC+UHA-6S MKII --> H-100.  Immensely detailed, dynamic, instruments cleanly separated, and an effortless presentation that allows you to 'sink' into the music.  The airy, holographic soundstage was particularly awesome, too.

 

I'll reiterate that the H-100 sounds excellent unamped (I really enjoy how it sounds straight from my Galaxy S3).. but feed it a clean, transparent, detailed DAC & amp combo (like the ODAC & UHA or O2).. and it'll scale impressively.  What you'll hear is better resolution, balance, detail, control, and dynamics.

What kind of communications did you guys receive upon payment for your TPEOS H-100?  This is my 1st international purchase and I'm getting concerned.  Were you provided with any kind of confirmation that payment was received?  Was a tracking number provided?

Over 24hrs. ago I sent payment thru PayPal to the GMail account I was given after making contact thru the email listed on the 1st page.  My PayPal confirmation stated payment was made to Mobynet (?).  I have yet to receive any confirmation from shinwoo/associates that payment was received.

I'm not getting impatient over delivery time, I just want to make sure my money went to the right place.
 

 

 

Don't worry. From what you wrote, it seems pretty much what happened to me and others here. Just email them, saying you completed the payment and you're waiting for a tracking number for your package. They sometimes take a while to respond, but they are legit and a offer great product at a great price...

I dont know where you got those grey tips from but I turned them inside out and put my klipsch dual flange on the H-100 and they fit very snug. It isolates a heap more than just using the grey tips itself and its more comfortable. Heres how the IEM looks like with this "mod". Works like a charm!

 

 

Edit: Also increases bass response and reduces my driver flex by a margin. And Shinwoo still hasnt replied to my email I sent on Friday...

Those grey tips came from a pair of Focal Price IEM's.

Finally. I heard some postal clerk the other day here saying it is ages this time of year for international post.

 

  That's an INGENIOUS idea for the tips , reversing it like that for better fit. Seems better than cutting out the center from a perfectly good tip at least you can reuse it later.  Thought I would post that up if it's ok with you , not sure if the picture was externally linked or not.  When folks in the future come back here to see where the world dominating T-peos IEM phenomenon began they will see it still this way.

 

Can you check back in later ( whenever ) with some impressions compared to the stock tips?

Haha sorry I dont know how to put pictures like that so I just added an attachment haha. My apologies everyone. I know it seems weird downloading it when I could have of posted it like that.

 

For me, its so much better than using stock tips. I'm very fussy about comfort and usually use foams as they give me the best fit and isolation but I just ran out of foamies and they are quite pricey and figured I should stop buying more haha.  So I pulled out my bag of ear tips and found my good ol' Klipsch oval tips which at first I thought were never practical as they are shaped to your ear which is oval and would fall out easily but I was completely wrong. They are one of my favourite tips along with the Sony Hybrids. So I tried to put them on but the bore was way to small to fit on the H-100 so I was going to buy one more pair of foamies so I can decore them and use the cores to go on the H-100 and put the oval tips inside them but I remember seeing somewhere on a thread something about "megatips"? (If anyone happens to know what I'm talking about please tell me about them as I lost that thread lol) So then I took a silicone tip and folded it inside out and inserted the oval tips inside and VOILA! It worked like a charm. Was quite shocked and impressed. I'm such a sucker for quality bass and finally, I've found what I was looking for!

 

I dont know what to call this so I will just refer to it as the "eartip mod". 

 

When you use the eartip mod for the H-100 (although I'm sure it will work for other IEMs) you wont tell much difference unless you listen to a bass heavy track as I, myself can only notice a difference in the lower bass regions and maybe slightly in the mid bass area too unless I am imagining this. I'm no audiophile BTW. 

You can feel the bass a lot more than using single flanged tips or "stock" tips. It has more strength and power and you can even make out the difference in texture if you listen really carefully. I I I do feel the isolation is where the eartip mods strongest point is but the bass difference is also great compared to the stock tips, if that makes sense hah.

Everyone should try it, I guess its one of those things you either hate or love, its worth a try because its completely reversible. 

Oh and, if you do experience driver flex like me with your H-100 then this will reduce it substantially or completely remove it.
