Did you watch the video? Are you lifting your ear? have you read any of the posts above? lol tongue_smile.gif

Both. Sony Hybrids. Yes, I've watched the video, seen it a couple of times already so nothing new and I also read the posts. Its the only thing that makes me go back to my W3.

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Doesn't sound right dude, not sure what you can do there besides a warranty replacement.

Aw. Will look into that. Although I have found using foamies reduces the effect.

Yep will do mate, thanks for the suggestion, I still have my old school iRiver iHP-120, I lost my charger for it, might hunt around for the charger and resurrect this one

Yeah, my tracking for the C3 said it had arrived in New Zealand this morning so hopefully it could come tomorrow or the following day. Running out of patience, cannot wait no longer... frown.gif

Yeah I hear you mate, most of my mates always said to me "geez mate you use different earphone everyday and all of them are fugly" ...and yes they use iBuds

I don't have driver flex too with H-100

Yeah, cos the most important thing is how they look and not how they sound. This is how friends who think that earphones should be measured on how they look, end up being called ****wits biggrin.gif

Lol. Love it.

Next will be explaining a $500 headphone amp as "to filter out and stop unwanted frequencies from damaging my eardrums" biggrin.gif

This just gets me more and more excited! Oh and to the people who have tried the C3 with the H-100 with the adapter, is it better with or without the adapter? On my S9, it seems to be better although for travelling, I might not take that extra bulk with me.

Edit: Anyone know how to remove driver flex? The driver flex on my H-100 is killing me.

Nothing to worry about concerning bass. The C3 doesn't remove any.

C3 with the H100 adaptor is too much. You won't be able to get a decent listening volume. Obviously you could amp the C3, but I find that using my C3 (which has a smooth presentation) through my Fiio E07K along with the 75 Ohm adaptor, just gives too much "smoothness" for me and takes some of the punch off the bass and too much sparkle off the treble. Obviously, your mileage may vary on this one, depending on your tastes.

H100 through just the E07K into my laptop, is excellent, leaves all the detail and clarity of the H100 intact and just knocks the edge off the trebles.

H100 with the C3 - just leave it as it is, doesn't need amping and certainly can't cope with the 75 Ohm adaptor.

Yeah, I though the C3 couldnt handle the H-100 with the adapter. I guess I will leave it as is and hopefully it sounds amazing! I always seem to have too high expectations and when I first use something whether its an amp or headphone/IEM I just think to myself, this was not worth the price or wow, thats it? But my hopes are high with the C3 and H-100. And you already have the FiiO E07k? How is it?

First you must except it. Learn what C3 is trying to tell you.

Well...she actually has asked me that "why do you always use that black little box attached to your ipod?", I just said it is an amplifier haha...she's pretty clued up is all dude stuff, in fact we were going to get a new TV for the new house in the living room, since the viewing distance is only about 2.5m between the sofa and the TV, I was going to get a 65", but then she pointed to the new Sharp 80" 200hz LED and said "why not buy that instead? it's bigger and it looks better"...hahaha I love her..

Yeah, teens nowadays only care about beats/looks and/or bass. I see some of them wearing the beats without the cable to look cool, its pretty much a headphone necklace... redface.gif

Like I showed my friend to try my Mad Dogs and he was like theyre ugly they look too "retro" or old fashioned and he put them on for like 5 seconds and took them off and said, beats are WAY better and I said why? All he said was bass hahahaha. No bass/ugly looks = ****ty headphone for teens. I mean, they worry about fake beats yet they dont worry about fake sound.

Ugh, sorry just had to get that off my chest after you mentioned that. Hope you guys dont mind. evil_smiley.gif

And by the way, anyone know Shinwoos email? Need to ask for a replacement.

Hard for me to give an entirely objective, side-by-side comparison against the E7, as my E7 is now on permanent "loan" with a friend wink.gif

However, it sounds better to my ears (from memory), both in terms of overall quality of sound and lack of colouration. Lovely smooth, crisp presentation right across the board when using it in AMP & DAC mode, connected to my laptop. Still haven't paired it with any sources yet, so no opinion on that.

For me, the extra functionality of the E07K was enough to persuade me into purchasing (it's the same price as the E7 in the UK), as I loved the E7, and this has some extra bells and whistles such as the hold switch and alterable gain switching and tone controls. It also has improved opamps I believe, and the ability to decode 24bit/96Khz in USB mode. Very happy with it so far.

How does it compare to the E17? I believe the E7 is the lil' brother of the E17?

I don't have an E17, and neither have I heard one so can't say.

Fiio state that the E17 is better sound quality from its amp, but then the E17 is a higher pricepoint, so you might expect that.

What Fiio have done with the E07K is taken an E7 and upgraded it and also introduced some elements of the E17 into it and kept it at the previous E7's pricepoint. Hard to argue with that as being value for money.

For what it's worth, ClieOS has done some early RMAA measurements of the E07K and declared it "quite excellent and a worthy upgrade from an E7"

EDIT: Forgot to say that you cannot connect an E17 through a USB OTG cable to a mobile phone either, it draws too much power. You can with the E7 and the E07K. This will be a consideration for some people who are using mobile phones with USB OTG functionality as their DAP's.
