** Just noticed there is another thread on this topic, which I evidently didn't see the first time around. This thread can be deleted or merged with http://www.head-fi.org/t/630015/engadgets-comparison-of-the-iphone-5-4s-galaxy-s3-and-the-one-x-for-audiophiles. Sorry everyone **
I ran across an article on Engadget this morning that basically states the iPhone 4s is better than the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5, HTC One X (US & Global) and the GS III (US & Global) when it comes to SQ. (The source is at the bottom of this e-mail)
I'm curious what everyone thinks. I currently have a HTC EVO 3D as my phone, and an Apple iPod Touch as my media device, but I was looking to consolidate to one device (and I was leaning towards an android platform). However, no matter what ROM, kernel, or music app I used with my phone, the Apple iPod touch always sounded MUCH better (and if anything I am biased pro-Android).
I even did a blind sound test (yes I'm that geeky / desperate) with my family and friends on several songs using both my receiver and identical headphones. Every time they picked the iPod Touch.
I'm curious what everyone thinks of these tests (they seem valid, but somewhat limited). As always, I'm just trying to educate myself (while also trying to find the best Android phone/media player)
