Replacements for Etymotic ER4S

I think I've lost my Etymotic ER4S.  I will consider replacing them with another set of Etymotic ER4S, but I thought I'd ask for any recommendations.  I like how crisp and precise the ER4S are.  I've also previously had the Shure SE535 and I didn't like them as much- they had better base, but they lost a lot in the clarity department.  

 

Any suggestions around the $300 to $400 price point?

RE-272 for in ears. Orthos and Electros for on/over-ear.

I'll think about it, but I think I want something with balanced armatures, not drivers.

Ety ER4S is the king of BA drivers, until you get into $400+++ customs.

Yeah, that's what I thought too.  Partly I'm balking at the $300 price- I paid $200 for my first pair.  At $300, I feel pretty close to $400 customs.  How about Westone 3, Westone 4s or Westone UM3Xs?  How much better are custom IEMs?

Once you go ER-4S and you love em, you will always go back! You should consider looking at the RE-272 as it's a REAL contender to the ER-4S with better mids IMO and slightly more fun signature. BUT, for myself, I love the ER-4S for what it does. When reviewing IEMs, I always look to the ER-4S as a "reference" because it's the closest thing to what music SHOULD sound like to my ears. If you're looking for another signature, there are PLENTY of great options available, but if you're looking for the ER-4S kind of sound, either a ER-4S or RE-272

What I love about the ER4S is that they don't get in between me and the music. You're probably right- I should just get another set of ER4S.  Or maybe I should try out the RE-272s. Ok, you've convinced me that I should at least consider them.

To me, the only 3 IEMs that produces sounds like the ER-4S is the ER-4S/PT/B, RE-272, and the UERM CIEM. I find the Etys to be the coldest of the 3 and has the most "Raw" sound, while the RE-272 sounds a bit warmer and more lively and the UERM I don't remember much of because 1. It was a short listen with a Demo and 2. It was a long time ago.
