I just looked it up on wikipedia: lol.

This, haha.
Grado already claims that slogan...
Wow, Grado is making a new planar headphone? Awesome!

Who wants to make bets on this just being some college kid with a newfound knowledge of audiophile construction terms... ultra thin, machined aluminum, select woods, neodymium, low driver mass, planar technology... lol...
$3200! Hahaha.
You know what would be really cool? If this thing sounded phenomenal and costed around a 1000... One can dream I guess
But I find that design just plain ugly especially with the colors shown
prolly costs 2000usd with the cable headphone and stand...
after seeing that nasty headband and cups... maybe 200usd
I bet they are waiting to set a price. Paitently watching this forum and waiting to see how much you guys are predicting that they will be. Then they will set the price right around there. In that case I am sure that all of you are wrong. 1-2k? Never, I think they will go for 350, tops.
As someone who has worked in new product development, I would say that those grilles are a prototype and the whole headphone will likely be different when it is brought to market. I mean look at the evolution of the LCD-2 from the original LCD-1 prototype. The grille and everything about them makes them polarizing and more likely to generate buzz. Based on the comments in this thread, I would say mission successful.
Selected wood? Looks like plywood to me
Plus If this sells at $1000, no way it'll be a hit. LOOK AT THAT SQUARE HEADBAND!
The design looks like it's trying to reach out to both audiophile ultra-purists and trendy hip cool kids. Keyword: trying.
I still wouldn't count them out until some gets a chance to hear them this weekend. Look at what Hifiman and Audeze have done with just a few guys starting out on their own. Maybe with the backing of a larger company behind them, Abyss will be able to produce something great.
And again, those look pretty "rough" right now. My guess is they are either a test bed or unfinished prototype and the final versions will differ significantly. But hey, who knows, these could turn out to be the Beats of Orthos: "Overpriced, Ugly, and Terrible Sounding™".

Of course no one is counting them out; the only info about them currently is how they look, and that means discussions will be exclusively confined to that.
One Dollar, Bob!
