Transitioning from a Siberia V2

As I found out this morning my Siberia V2 was making me deaf since the left side of the headset doesn't even work anymore. I'm taking this as a sign that I should move on to better headphones.

So far I've heard good things about the :

-Audio Technica M50

-Sony MDR-V6

-Audio Technica AD700

 

I understand that these are all from very price ranges but I think that they are popular for good reasons. As of now I'm currently leaning towards the M50s but I've also heard that they're massively overrated from some of the posts that I've read. I'm willing to drop around the 150$ on a pair of headphones, and I'm usually listening to rock or just gaming. Would any of these headphones fit my needs or are there better ones out there that are around my budget?

m50. they are not overrated. they are just really good for its price. do note of the comfort though, specially the pads which is its drawback IMO

I see you are coming from a gaming headset. Is that a priority? or you want something only for music?

I guess that I would call it a priority, but on a lower priority than music since I would usually tone down the volume a lot when I play.

The Ultrasone Pro 550 is a nice music/gaming headphone, they have a nice soundstage despite being a closed and the bass is not bloated. Just the right amount.
